Our Mission

        The Monterey County Veterans Employment Committee (MCVEC) promotes the employment of military veterans and endeavors to provide useful links to national, state and local resources.

Special Events / Local Job Fair Info

        Every year, the MCVEC assists the Employment Development Department (EDD) in promoting Veteran Appreciation Month and "Hire-A-Veteran" week during the month of May, which includes an annual job fair at the Monterey Peninsula College. Available is a page with information regarding other job fairs.

Veteran Resource Directories

MCVEC Veteran Resources Directory: Provides helpful information on veteran resources at the national, state, and local levels.
E-VETS Resource Advisor: Provides veterans with job search tools, employment openings, career assessment, benefits, special services, and other resources.
REALifelines Advisor: Department of Labor's Recovery and Employment Assistance Lifelines (REALifelines) Advisor provides wounded/injured veterans, transitioning service members, and their family members with internet links to resources (This site offers extensive information and resources that can benefit all veterans).

Veterans Resource Center on Mental Health

The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) online Veterans Resource Center to help support active duty military personnel, veterans and their families facing serious mental illnesses such as depression, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and schizophrenia.
