It's been a while since this page has been updated. This page will be updated more frequently over the coming months. In the meantime, as you may have noticed, there is a new weather bug on the front page reporting conditions at nearby Frazier Lake Airpark.

I've noticed it's been quite windy over the past year plus. With spring just a few months away, it seems like a good time to look into gliders for those windy days. The following links are for two excellent sources for gliders.

The first, Leading Edge Gliders (LEG) specializes in EPP foam, which are supposed to be very easy to put together. The owner, Jack Cooper has an excellent reputation. The following are links to a glider forum, detailing instructions for some of LEG's more popular designs, the LEG One and the King Cobra.

Next is one the most incredible and awe-inspiring designs I have ever seen in a glider, the JART. The JART is a high-performance slope soaring RC glider designed by Californian Reed Sherman. He originally published his plans on Jartworld.com for people to be specifically scratch-build their own. Now, he also sells both the EPP and fiberglass versions. The video of the maiden flight for the fiberglass version is outstanding! Be aware, it is a 15 MB download.

Here's some new items of interest since the last update:
The Blue Angels will be returning to Salinas Airport for the Airshow on Saturday & Sunday, August 8 & 9. Tickets can be purchased online here on February 1.

Speaking of Blue Angels, here are some great pictures.

Midair between a Corsair and and Kawasaki KI-100 large scale RC aircraft.

Great view of a military flight trainer aircraft on approach (from the rear seat).

This one's been around a while but it's still a great view of low level, high speed flight over water by multiple military aircraft.

How about an RC B-29 and Bell X-1. Love when the rocket lights.

This guy got a better view of an A-10 Warthog on take-off than he expected.

I'm not sure I would fly an RC aircraft this low, let alone a four engine, full scale airliner.

How about a twin turbine RC F-14 Tomcat, complete with swing-wing capibility and a Top Gun soundtrack. Looks great when it starts up, too.

This is cool. A 360 degree picture of an A-380 cockpit.

Picture of a mid-air refuel of a YF-22 Raptor.

Great in-flight profile picture of a YF-22.

In-flight picture of a YF-22 and F-15 side-by-side.

And last, but certainly not least, Danny Szablo shows off some serious skills with an electric helecopter.

Reminder: If you come across any interesting stuff (airplane-related or general interest) that you would like to contribute to the web site, please email them to me. Additionally,  photographic contributions to the club web site are always welcome. If you don't see me at the field, pictures (either hardcopy or cd-rom) can be left in an envelope or cd jewel case in the back of the Membership Form box at the field, addressed to my attention (Paul W.). After scanning/uploading the pictures to the web site, I will either return them directly to you or leave them in an envelope/jewel case in the same location.

See you all at the field.
