  Please note: materials and books for beginners will be available for sale at our first rehearsal on Monday, September 13, 2010. Welcome to Orchestra in the Schools! The Orchestra in the Schools program is tuned-up for 2010-2011, our twenty-third year! Students from the area’s public and independent schools, grades 4-8, are invited to participate. Our team of top local music professionals provides outstanding small group instrumental instruction and large group performance opportunities. This program makes instrumental music available to all interested students. WHO: Students in grades 4-8 (younger string students will be considered at the director’s discretion). Music director James Paoletti and our instructors place the students based on instrument and ability level. There are three levels of instruction: Beginner - first year players, Intermediate - second year players, and Advanced - third year players. All groups will perform in our Winter and Spring Concerts. WHERE: ALL SAINT'S DAY SCHOOL - 8060 Carmel Valley Road (4.5 miles east of Hwy 1 see zoomable map). WHEN: Every MONDAY from September 13th, 2010 through May 9, 2011, from 4:00 to 6:15 p.m. INSTRUMENTS: Instruments include violin, viola, cello, string bass, flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, trumpet, french horn, trombone, baritone, and tuba. Beginning instruments are available to rent, lease, or purchase through several local music stores. Some INSTRUMENT SCHOLARSHIPS are available on violin, viola, cello, string bass, french horn, and trombone. REGISTRATION: Tuition is $425.00 for the school year (27 two-hour lessons) or $245 per semester. Registration takes place at 4:00 pm on the first day of rehearsal, Monday, September 13, 2010 at All Saints' Day School. Please download and fill out the Registration form and the Consent Form.The last day for Beginner registration is October 4, 2010 (advanced students may join later at the Music Director's discretion). With experience gained in this program, many former students are now participating in Youth Music Monterey's Youth and Honors Orchestras.
