DEANNA in CO'S SL 1 HISTORY SUPPLEMENT LIST Notes: 1) Sonlight materials are marked with the note (SL) and the year they are used. 2) One of our libraries uses a system that marks books by three different interest levels. I have used this for their books since it makes it easier to identify which books will be of interest to younger children. "E" books are mostly picture books. "I" books are slightly longer books, often easy chapter books, which contain more information. 3) Anything not explicitly noted as "Christian" may contain some references to evolution or to other religions. I have, however, only included secular material that in my opinion has enough value to make it worth dealing with the amount of problematic content it contains. 4) This list is specifically geared to my very bright, 6yo, history-oriented dd, and is intended to supplement SL's Basic 1. Anything that seemed to demand a longer attention span or a bigger vocabulary than my dd had, and anything that I thought would take too much time to read as a supplement, I have not included. I've included some simple picture books, but many of these books do demand a fair attention span and ability to grasp history.
