SIMPLE HOME PAGES:

Equivalent of up to 6 or so screens of text [approx 12K file size] with some graphics that you provide in JPG or GIF format. This may also include links to stories, essays, poetry, or other text works that you would like to include. Up to 50K total file size with text files for works provided in ASCII text format.

RATES

$54-$108 setup charge. Effectively, this covers an hour to two of my time to turn your inputs into a clean, working home page. If I underestimate the work involved, that is my problem, not yours. If you will be hosting your pages on your own account, I'll deliver them to you over the Internet by posting them and letting you know the URL.

$9 per month host & maintainance charge, payable in 6 month increments. This covers hosting your page [up to 50K total size for text + graphics] and approximately 10 minutes per month of time for doing maintenance and making additions or changes at your request. I work fast. 10 minutes is a lot of time for me. If changes are substantial, however, and require more effort than this, I'll provide an estimate of the effort involved, options, and cost.

MODERATE HOME PAGES:

Equivalent of up to 12 or so screens of text [approx 25K file size] with some graphics that you provide in JPG or GIF format. This may also include links to stories, essays, poetry, or other text works that you would like to include. Up to 200K total size including graphics. Text files for any works provided in ASCII text format or HTML.

$108-$432 setup charge. Effectively, this covers two to eight hours of my time to turn your inputs into a clean, working home page. If I underestimate the work involved, that is my problem, not yours. If you will be hosting your pages on your own account, I'll deliver them to you over the Internet by posting them and letting you know the URL.

$18 per month host & maintainance charge, payable in 3 month increments. This covers hosting your page [up to 200K total size for text + graphics] and approximately 20 minutes per month of time for doing maintenance and making additions or changes at your request. If changes are substantial, however, and require more effort than this, I'll provide an estimate of the effort involved, options, and cost.

For any Home Page work, you will have full rights to everything that I do for you. It is up to you to make sure that you have permission to use any graphics that you include on your pages.

This can cover a variety of services from:

• reviewing your material and making recommendations on how to organize and present it,

• converting your material to HTML pages,

• editing and rewriting material to make it more clear and concise,

• reviewing existing WWW pages and making suggestions for improvements,

• implementing improvement suggestions on your pages,

• troubleshooting pages, identifying and fixing problems,

• providing advice on how to more cost-effectively meet your WWW information needs.

My rate for consulting is $54 per hour. I find it most effective to work via e-mail and over the Internet directly. Though, if you have a large job [ >100 hours ], I'm open to arranging meeting in person to see what you have and assess how best I can serve you. If you are more than two hours away from Monterey, however, I expect to be compensated for travel. Travel is not included in my consulting rate.
