A PLEA FOR HELP
NAMASTE ALL! HAVE A MIRACULOUS NEW YEAR!
In the past we have asked for your feedback and your inputs to help transform this site and especially The Search for Center from a primarily ME creation into a WE creation. Actually, it is already a WE creation to a large degree, where we is SPIRIT and Wayne with Wunjo's help for The Search for Center.
Perhaps we haven't been explicit enough in explaining what we do and what specific kinds of things you might be able to do to participate and join us in this grand endeavor.
Let's start with what Wayne is committed to do each month:
- New Treasures from the Dragon's Lair section. [1-2 hrs]
- New Opinions section. [2-3 hrs my opinions + 1 hr to format others]
- New Responses to Question of Month [1 hr response + 1 hr to format]
- New Making a Difference Section [2-3 hrs]
- New Creating the Foundations Section [4-6 hrs]
- New Let's Create a Better World Section [1-2 hrs]
- New Between Order and Chaos Section [1-2 hrs]
- Page Work for other sections [approx 1 hr/section = 10 hrs]
Yes, that is 30 hours per month of my time just for activities related to what The Search for Center does each month. And this is a conservative estimate. I'm actually spending between 60 and 80 hours per month on this ... and it seems to be growing each month. Further, BEYOND IMAGINATION related stuff takes another 20-40 hours per month. Yes, that makes this a 3/4 time job (or more) for me already. That doesn't even count "thinking" or "planning" time. And yes, I have a separate FULL TIME job that pays the bills.
BTW: If you are wondering why you don't see me on IRC or at SWC much any more ... it is because spirit is a slavedriver. But, I am not complaining, I LOVE every minute that I spend on this endeavor.
This does not mean that I cannot find time to participate in other things. I just have to be able to schedule time for them now. So, if you want my participation, send me an e-mail identifying what you are doing or discussing, when and where. If it is at all in line with the kinds of things Beyond Imagination or The Search for Center is doing, I'll do what I can to support it.
OK, now that you know what I am doing, how can you help to make this a joint creation of people cooperating together? What can you do to make this truly a WE endeavor?
- If you know HTML and can help with some of the pagework, that would be great. It would make it easiest if you were able to take responsibility for a Section that interests you ... integrating inputs received each month from the community to create a finished new page for the section.
- Even if you don't know HTML, you can treat the inputs as simple text files, integrate and proof the inputs and pass them to me or someone else for final transformation into a new page. It really is pretty easy. If you are willing to learn how to do it ... I might be able to teach you, or we'll find someone who can.
- If you have your own site/page then ... if you are moved to take responsibility for a section, either existing or a NEW one that you want to create ... you can do the work and post it at your site, and we'll link to it from the main newsletter page each month. Feel free to create and express whatever you are moved by spirit to express. We'll offer feedback and assistance if you ask for it ... but it is not our job to filter or censor what you say. No, that does not mean we personally or collectively fully stand behind what is expressed in any section. However, we stand behind the right to express as spirit moves YOU, period.
- If you are doing work of your own that relates to what we are doing, you could generate an update of your recent activities each month along with links that people could follow to find out more. If you need help in any of your endeavors, you can identify what kind of help you need, or just explain what the problem is so that our community can see it and respond if it so moves them. If you ask, you just may find the right person or group of people that can assist you.
- You could host your own forums, and turn the logs into pages. It would be easiest on us if you host these on your own account and give us the URL to link to along with a description of what the forum addresses. We can announce these in advance on our forum page along with a link to a page that has background information on what the forum is about and what you want it to accomplish. I don't know how others work, but my time is very limited. I rarely go anywhere or do anything unless there is a purpose served by it ... usually one of HER purposes. LOL!!!
- If you carry on relevant discussions via e-mail, you can transform these into pages that capture whatever is important or meaningful from the discussion. You might even generate an input to the opinion section or the issues/recommended actions page to summarize the important points and provide a POC and a link where people can go for more details.
Consider The Search for Center Newsletter as a sort of information clearinghouse and meeting place that helps our community members find information that is important to them or to the work that they are doing ... and that helps them to link up with kindred spirits so that they can work together to truly create a difference in not only their own lives, but in their community, and their world. Through such actions we can start to manifest the foundations necessary for SPIRIT to more fully express HERE and NOW!
- Nearly every section of the newsletter can benefit from your inputs. It is as simple as expressing whatever you are moved to express either on the Feedback form, or via e-mail. Inputs are collected and posted in each section each month. You can write Letters to the Editor, or opinions, or poetry, or issues/recommended actions, or recommendation for new links for the link pages, or ... or ... or ...... give your imagination and spirit full reign to express whatsoever it will.
This includes coming up with new sections of your own if you want. You can either suggest these for addition, or take responsibility to do them each month yourself. We strongly encourage that you take responsibility where you can and consider that responsibility a sacred one ... not between you and us, rather between YOU and SPIRIT. Also, you don't have to do things alone. Find others to team up with ... the burden is much lighter when it is shared!
If you make a commitment, we expect you to honor it. We will not ride you or hound you however. The deadline for inputs each month is the 15th. The deadline for finished sections is the 22nd. Inputs after the 15th (except calendar inputs) will not be incorporated until the following month.
- If you are aware of events or activities that you think might be of interest to our community, send a description and relevant information including a link where further information is available if needed, so that we can include it in the calendar.
You don't even have to make your involvement public. Inputs can be anonymous. The Feedback form does not include any information about you, unless you explicitly enter it on the form. The e-mail that we get when the form is posted is from "unknown" at our site to us. Also, if you want your communication to be private, even for regular e-mail, just request so and we will honor your needs.
THANK YOU FOR WHATEVER HELP YOU CAN PROVIDE!
NAMASTE
