REVEALING ADDITIONAL DETAILS
17 June 1997
Namaste,
No response has yet been received from either Netscape or Microsoft; so, it is time to take the next step. As usual, I'll do what spirit moves me to do and observe what happens.
First, before proceeding to reveal my discovery, the following contract applies:
WEB FUNDAMENTALS: Motivation and Guidance for using browser based technology in a local mode to greatly improve information infrastuctures both at work and at home.
As indicated below, what is being revealed here literally is that powerful. Take the time to apply it and become the MASTER of the information in your life, rather than it's slave. We truly live in an information age ... decide now to be a major player in this age. What you learn and achieve by doing this, will literally help to transform our world in ways that are BEYOND IMAGINATION. Join me in this Great Work. Allow SPIRIT to be expressed through YOU to the greatest degree possible HERE and NOW.
IN PEACE, LOVE and LIGHT, Wayne.

ANNOUNCING A DISCOVERY
13 May 1997
I find it curious that my announcement over a week ago has apparently fell on deaf ears. I would think that any major player in the web browser business should have found my announcement worthy of contact at the very least. The potential business advantage of providing a web browser based application that could greatly benefit hundreds of thousands of workers in information intensive environments whether they have internet access or not surely would be great for profits, especially if very little additional development was needed to create such a powerful information management application.
Perhaps my discovery seemed too good to be true. That is understandable ... such discoveries are clearly unexpected. However, in this case what I say is indeed true. I have demonstrated for over a month the great benefit in using my web browser to organize non-internet information in a way that is truly empowering -- literally putting all of my work information not only at my fingertips, but at those of everyone that I work with as well.
I am an engineer, with a MSEE from Stanford. I've worked as a Systems Engineer on a complex system for the past decade. I know what I am talking about. I've always produced far more higher quality work than my peers. This recent discovery has easily made me 2-3 times more effective, and further has increased the productivity of everyone that I work with on a regular basis.
Here, we have an opportunity for major software companies to truly produce an application that allows information workers to become masters rather than slaves of their information. This has the potential of literally making hundreds of thousands of people more effective at both their work and in their extracurricular development and management of information ... easily saving millions of hours monthly. Surely it is in the best interest of everyone to MAKE IT SO ... to realize this great improvement and start applying the hours saved to the many problems that plague this world.
Given the known benefits, I believe what I have asked for in compensation is extremely fair, it is but a small fraction of the value of my contribution. Further, I have not asked for much personally. The bulk of compensation is to be used to fund the works that spirit would do through Beyond Imagination, a non-profit educational/spiritual foundation that I have insisted be created. The nature of the works to be funded are described at the BEYOND IMAGINATION site.
Thus far, all that has been done via Beyond Imagination has been a gift from spirit through me to the world. Now, spirit has used me to bring forth a discovery of great value to the world ... however, the condition for its release is that it be used as a source of funds to do her work in this world to truly establish foundations that allow spirit to be more fully expressed in flesh. This seems to be the fairest of all exchanges. However, I am moved to insist that such a price be paid, a tithe to spirit.
Whether Netscape or Microsoft are the appropriate vehicles for bringing this discovery to the world remains to be seen. In the meantime, I'll pursue other options that spirit opens to me. It is not for me to decide what will be. If indeed my actions are right in this matter, spirit herself will ensure that the proper parties are there to engage in whatever contracts are necessary.
Should my actions be inappropriate under the present circumstances, spirit will move me to take notice and act accordingly. One way or another, the world at large will benefit from my discovery. At least, those with ears to hear, and with the wisdom to learn to use such tools to empower themselves and others to work more effectively.
For Netscape and Microsoft, or any other browser manufacturer, my offer below still stands at least though 5/28. [Beyond that, we shall see what spirit moves me to do next.] Conditions (1) and (2) are required. Condition (3) is optional and can be exercised at anytime up to 30 days after the initial disclosure. After that, I cannot guarantee that I will be available to engage in such a contract. Further, if I haven't demonstrated that my time is worth far more than this in our initial week of contact, then I would not want you to employ me anyway.
There will be no negotiation on these terms. This is the price that spirit demands from you. My sense is that she will demand her tithe whether you choose to accept the terms via a contract or not. Any increases in browser sales and sales of new browser-based applications resulting from disclosure of this discovery are subject to the tithe that spirit demands. It is not for me or for man's law to exact this tithe. It is spiritual law that reigns supreme in this matter. In this particular case, I am but the instrument that she chooses to use.
As always, you can reach me at beyond@redshift.com

ANNOUNCING A DISCOVERY
2 May 1997
FROM: Wayne Hartman
SUBJECT: POTENTIAL NEW WEB-BROWSER BASED APPLICATIONS
TO: Microsoft and Netscape
Namaste,
One month ago, I made a discovery that made my web browser [I have both Internet Explorer and Netscape Gold] the most important tool in my informational arsenal at work. Implementing this discovery has increased my personal productivity by a factor of 2-3 because I now am able to be the master of information rather than it's slave. Further, I have used this discovery to put my work information at the fingertips of over 50 people that I work with on a weekly basis in my job environment working as an system engineer.
The most important thing is that I have done this without requiring any access to the Internet or the WWW. Your web browsers have an awesome power for use in normal work environments that can easily make them become the most important applications that people in information intensive work environments should be using. YES, whether they have Internet access or not.
Most people would not consider a web browser to be a productivity enhancer. In fact, many employers limit Internet access because they believe workers will abuse the access and use it for personal reasons including entertainment. Now, the power of the tools can be harnessed in the normal working environment.
It can be done now! I've been doing it for a month. I know firsthand how well it works by the amount of time it saves for me and for others that I work with directly.
I spent several hours at the bookstore yesterday looking through books on web browsers and on Internet related stuff. I did not find anyone that even suggested using the web browsers in the manner that I have been actively doing. I can only conclude that others have not yet realized that this can be done in this manner. I truly discovered something NEW by connecting different areas of expertise in a unique and empowering way. [Personal WWW Related Skills with Information Environment at work.]
Some improvements/enhancements are needed to make the browsers more flexible for the purposes that I employ them and to make it much easier for the average person to be able to use them in a similar fashion, but they are relatively simple changes that are driven by differences between the work environment and the WWW environment.
These improvements should allow browser based applications to sell for far more than the $69 that Netscape Gold now costs. Such applications should easily be worth as much as basic Office Applications [Word Processor, Spreadsheet, or Briefing/Presentation] applications that people use everyday. Personally, it would be worth over $500 to me personally to buy such an application just because it literally saves me that much worth of time in a week or two at the most. Used properly, it can do that for millions of people in this country alone.
Hopefully, that is enough to entice you as to the potential service such tools could provide (and the accompanying profit that selling such applications can generate).
So, where do we go from here?
Before I reveal the details of what I know, I want a contract with either Netscape or with Microsoft that does the following:
(1) Provides $108,000 up front to meet with you for a week to explain and show you what I've discovered and to relay my ideas into how to transform your web browser into a killer application that people can use to become masters of information. I expect you to provide for transportation and cover normal travel expenses (meals and room) for the week. I can be available 12 hours per day for the entire week to transfer as much information as possible in our initial meetings.
(2) Entitles me to a tithe, exactly 10 percent, of any increases in sales of current browsers due to using them in non-internet environments or in ways that don't involve the internet AND a tithe, exactly 10% of any profits from new browser-based applications that result from applying my suggestions for turning browsers into more useful applications. This tithe is to last for exactly 10 years from the time of disclosure.
Note: I require that this tithe be donated to a non-profit spiritual/educational foundation that you "help me" to create. [help me = "do whatever it takes to make it legal", the preferred name is BEYOND IMAGINATION, if it is available.]
(3) I am willing to sign a consulting contract at $108,000 up front bonus plus $108/hour plus travel expenses, with a minimum of 2000 hours for up to ONE YEAR to support requirements definition and marketing for enhancements and/or new applications based on my ideas. After that, further support would have to be contracted based on my availability and based on the demonstrated value of my services. At this point, I can only sign up to commitments of one year at a time.
You would be free to employ these hours in whatever manner you feel is most effective to building and delivering quality products based on my ideas at whatever locations are necessary to get the work done. I would prefer to fly out on Tuesday mornings and return home on Friday evenings but I am open to do what it takes to get the job done. I have worked as much as 100 hours per week in my present job and for many months at 60-80 hours per week, even though I was only paid for 40 hours per week. Yes, I am eccentric, but I take responsibility and do whatever it takes to get the job done.
I am open to front-loading the expenditure of these hours to get products out as quickly as possible to allow you to take commercial advantage of being the first to market applications with improved capabilities.
