I just received this post from my good friend ilyes (from Oregon) who is suggesting an excellent idea as you will see hereafter (THANK YOU ILYES!). So yes it would greatly help me since I'm already very busy if each one could provide such a short summary statement as Barbara and ilyes did today, adding one thing which would help our perception of where we each come from: where are you located?

If you want to add your snailmail address and phone number, it would be great. And a specific field of interest(s) in this global endeavour would also help to think of you when there is a specific need to be fulfilled.

I would suggest as a main topic for that meeting: defining our Mission Statement as a core group. (any suggestion?) meaning what we are to accomplish based on what draws you to participate to this initiative and eventually to these chatting sessions - so think about what is your main motivation to get involved.

[4/19] from BEYOND IMAGINATION: As always, our ONLY motivation for getting involved is that there is a potential for this effort to enable SPIRIT to become more fully expressed in flesh. We welcome being able to get involved in such activities in whatever manner SPIRIT moves us.

I've already put out many ideas as the initiator of this and one of them is to *cocreate* this participatory event with other.

I already feel very much assisted by what I would call my inner guidance whenever I do that work - that's how I function, I do not rationalize very much ideas but let things evolve naturally in my head and soul and just catch the leading thread when an idea comes and follow it to where it is leading me, trusting entirely the inner wisdom (the guidance) "piggybacking" on my mind (so as to say) to know where it is best to go at this point.

It may sound a bit faithful on my part to work like this, but I think it is precisely based on that: faith! Faith in Life, faith in God, faith in my divine soul, call it as you want, but it has been working just fine for me for many years and I couldn't go back to when I was going only by my very limited personal intellectual power.

So yes, I feel assisted but I think that the development of group consciousness is the next level in our evolutionary path. I've been living in an intentional community for years and have been frequently involved with lots of people on various projects, so I see this as an ongoing challenge for our species to evolve from self-centered consciousness towards group-centered consciousness, leading eventually towards planetary consciousness (the Gaia mind) and ultimately towards universal consciousness. Interestingly, here is a paragraph I wrote 11 years ago when this current saga all started - WHEN I GOT THE FIRST COMMUNICATION FROM GAIA TO WRITE A BOOK TO BE CALLED "THE IMMORTAL CHILD" a book where this Earth Concert idea was first described. Here is the core message this book (and someday soon, a feature movie) offers to all human beings:

There is a Universal Plan and we are part of this Plan. The Universe is slowly becoming aware of Itself. We are slowly becoming aware that we are the Universe. WE, is all the living beings, on every plane of existence, everywhere, everytime. The Illusion is to think, talk and act as if we are apart from the whole Universe. We are not apart. We are a part, a holographic part, a microcosm reflecting and encompassing the macrocosm. Not only are we interconnected, but we are simultaneously the whole Universe. When we think something, the Universe is thinking something. When we say something, the Universe is saying something. When we do something, we know that the Universe is doing it. Not through us, but Itself, directly. What is implied by this is simply phenomenal!... Gaia is the name given to Mother Earth and expresses the same Reality. We are Gaia as everything else: the rock, the leaf, the fly, the bird and the child. We are all this at the same time, simultaneously. And Gaia is a cell of Galactica, our Cosmic Mother, the swirling haze of stars spinning around itself as a true living Being. And Galactica is also a cell of the infinite Universe: Universalia... And the Plan, evolving through countless eons of time, patiently brings awareness of the Unity of all that is to all that IS.

So I guess what I'm sharing here is the feeling that I'm looking for other conspirators who have the same inner desire and deep impulse to assist in the birth of a new species on Earth: homo sapiens sapiens galacticus. Of course this millennial event is just another opportunity to contribute to this evolutionary process and exponentially expand this process to countless other people. Again another excerpt from that Immortal Child book comes to mind. What is printed on the back of the book (which, unfortunately, is no more available from any bookstore but only from me, here) is this:

Long, long ago, when Light crystallized for the first time in Life, we began the most prodigious adventure ever undertaken: Evolution! This adventure is still unfolding today and Humanity is about to discover that it is just one more stage - but a crucial stage - in the great endless epic of the evolution of Life.

The time has come for us to get back in touch with the forces that have been at work since the dawn of time, relentlessly and patiently, to guide us on the right path to the fulfillment of our sublime destiny. It is up to us now to take control of our destiny and show the necessary mastery to complete what Life has begun long ago, so long ago... The Immortal Child is about to be born and needs each one of us to succeed...

Here is a message I had come in from my mail list that I think has a direct bearing with this mail list. It is one of the reasons I think our focus via our mission statement should be carefully thought out in the event through our good will that we don't actually separate diverse peoples of the Earth. See my focus is more towards unity via Interfaith. 2000 is okay and a good goal but realize beforehand that not everybody will come to this goal for the following reasons.

Of course here in the United States and most of Europe we use the Gregorian Calendar. However, Orthodox Christians use a different calendar, and of course Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, Jews, Zoroastrians, Baha'is, and so on, all use their own calendars also.

My point should be obvious. The year 2000 CE is a bimillenium for some, but not for others, and I would hope that in our zeal for some kind of global celebration of this "magic" number, we do not simply aggravate the religious disunity that already exists in the world.

Let there be respect for diversity and other ways of thinking about time and calendars.

Thank you for your enthusiastic comments. Things are indeed looking up better every passing day. Yet there is a challenge to meet. Joining enough of us who believe in the importance of the start of this new millennium to create a greater bonding between all human beings and inspire hope and a sense of responsibility for our common future, and also initiate a domino effect of involvement and activation of more and more people to make this event a true millennial landmark in the history of this planet.

To achieve this aim, I agree that the 1000 day countdown starting next April the 6th is definitely the right time to trigger this domino effect. As Javier Creus put it in his email today, our #1 task is to generate a very wide platform for April 6 able to execute simultaneously a very limited set of things -- getting radio broadcasters around the world to play simultaneously "Imagine" by John Lennon for instance, and inviting people to join their minds for a few minutes on that occasion. This would seem to me to be quite feasible provided enough people agree pretty soon on such an idea. We could then each alert our various constituencies aroundthe world by email, fax, phone, mail and by word-of-mouth --- but that might not magnify enough this idea for it to reach the public at large. This is why I would like to suggest the following:

1) Let's first set an ad hoc Steering Committee (WHAT OUR CHAT SESSIONS AND EMAIL COMMUNICATIONS SHOULD LEAD TO) to finalize, with the support and contribution of as many people as possible - mainly through the Net -, or at least define as best as possible a vision of what could be achieved on the very first minutes of the year 2000 (going by our gregorian calendar) and then design a strategy to break into the mass media with this idea, using the April 6 date as the main starting point for this. Maybe we could set a forum through your April 6 segment of your site to further discuss this and shape things up by the end of this month. Maybe this is already going on, I don't know. tell me if you are aware of anything like that. And for sure the idea of getting radio broadcasters around the world to simultaneously play Imagine as well as keeping at least a one minute complete radio silence right after the song would be part of this planning.

2) Once we have set our minds on a specific goal for the year 2000, such as having a very large event integrating in a viable and well-orchestred whole the many proposals now on the table - leaving the fine-tuning to future adjustment of course - with a global simultaneous broadcast of it through all national radios and televisions of the world (as for the Olympic Games but even bigger than that) all this being the Big News to be announced, we will devise a set of actions to make it known by all possible means including a simultaneous press conference through the Internet - I feel we have to take full advantage of the current interest everywhere for the Internet by using this medium to publicize our project through such a worldwide Press conference. This Press conference (I don't know if this has been done before but if it is the case we should be able to contact those who have done it to find out from them what works best) must be well-planned down to the Press communique announcing it and its date of release (possibly Monday the 31st of March), who will be responsible in each country to make sure each News organization gets one and possibly check beforehand if anyone has been assigned to cover it, and so on.

I WANT ALSO TO POINT OUT THAT, ACCORDING TO STEVE DIAMOND WHO LOOKED INTO THIS ISSUE, IT APPEARS THAT IN MANY COUNTRIES WHERE THEY HAVE A DIFFERENT CALENDAR, PEOPLE FREQUENTLY DISPLAY OUR WESTERN CALENDAR BESIDES THE ONE OF THEIR OWN CULTURE. BUT STILL I AGREE THAT WE MUST BE RESPECTFUL OF OTHER CULTURES AND INSIST THAT FOR US THIS IS MAINLY AN OPPORTUNITY TO CREATE A SENSE OF UNITY BEYOND OUR CULTURAL AND RELIGIOUS DIFFERENCES ON THIS PLANET.
