Hello One and All!!!

Well hopefully I've found the perfect spot for a gathering that is planned to coincide with Gina's visit to the states in August. I talked to them this afternoon and they are willing to accommodate us. To see the place just go to this address: http://www.norcalhostels.org/montara.htm

I think that you will find this place incredible (even though never been there myself). Here's the figures I have so far and what I'm thinking...

Cost: $12/per nite per person $300 for day use of facility for 3 days to split equally among those coming. $1/per nite for bed linen if you don't bring a sleeping bag

Meals: We will be preparing our own meals so this will be another shared expense. The place has a fully equipped kitchen for this purpose.

Transportation: You will need to book your flight to arrive San Francisco on Aug. 6th and to depart Aug. 10th. We will meet at the airport and return there for those who fly in. I'm thinking that a van could be rented and share this expense as well so that we'll have transport rather than individually renting cars. (what do you think?) thus the reason for meeting at airport...

What you will need to bring: Yourself, sleeping bag and the other stuff you would normally bring on a trip...hehehehehe Oh...and of course...your wonderful cheerful sense of being...

Hmmm...should also note that it can get chilly there...

I will need to know as quickly as you can tell me if you will be coming so as to make accurate reservations...we have to pay in advance for the day use and first night at time of reserving...

Now about the place!

Just in case you haven't gone to look at it yet...it is located 25 miles south of San Francisco on the ocean because it is a restored lighthouse built in 1875. The sleeping arrangements are dormitory style with a max of 6 people in a room. There is also a common meeting area with sofas and chairs. The beach is below with tidal pools for our interests and there are some activities available in the area (as tho anyone will want to go do something else...hehehehe) They tell me you can do whale-watching also... According to the guy I talked to on the phone the setting is perfect for us and we will love it.
