BOOK REVIEW by Wayne for Nancy Lattimer

Time Tactics of Very Successful People

by B. Eugene Griessman

Self-Improvement Paperback $14.95 ..... 233 pages ..... McGraw Hill, Inc.

The author asked Stanley Marcus, (yes, of Neiman-Marcus) "What do the wealthy, powerful, and famous people you know have in common?" His answer was "They all have 24-hour days". Further, he explained: "The world has expanded in almost all directions, but we still have a 24-hour day. The most successful people and the most unsuccessful people all receive the same ration of hours each day."

The only difference then, is how we use our daily ration of 24 hours.

This book provides a wealth of practical techniques for using your time more efficiently and effectively ... allowing you to free up valuable time and apply it to things that are truly worth doing. I picked up the book two days ago ... I am already halfway through it. Literally, the book blew me away. The techniques for time management are wonderful. They are presented in a manner that is fun, many times along with real world example ... and often humorous ones at that. No matter how busy you are, you should be able to apply what you find in the book in a manner that saves you at least 10 hours per week. Just think what you can do with those ten hours ... especially operating at your creative best.

One technique that really puts you in the right framework is to start putting a VALUE on your "free" time. The place to start is two to three times your current rate per hour if you are employed by someone else ... or 50% more than your going rate if self-employed.

Now, whenever you do something make sure that you consider the VALUE of your time that is involved. If what you are doing is not worth this value, then you should be asking yourself what you could be doing differently to get your value's worth out of the time you put in.

No, this doesn't mean you should be charging for every minute of your time. However, it does mean that you find better ways to get more out of your daily ration of 24 hours ... in many cases "get more" means apply yourself in ways that allows you to DO MORE, and GIVE MORE to others and to your World.

This is where the labor for creating a new and better world can come from. It is but for us to make the best of the time that we have, and more effectively apply ourselves to the tasks which truly need doing.

PLEASE READ THIS BOOK! IT IS THAT IMPORTANT!
