Musings of a Spiritual Warrior

16 December 1999

A 28 day in a 28 year.  The last one for some time.  The next 28 year doesn't occur until 2899, exactly 900 years from now.  28 is the Man with the World in his hands in the Tarot.  In some ways, that is how I feel, like the man with the world in his hands ... or better yet in his thought and dreams.  My vision is of a world that is quite different than the present one in which we reside.

I dream of a world united in love, peace, and harmony; where people are equal and receive what they need physically, emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually; where people are employed in a manner that engages their natural abilities and talents fully for the good of both the individual and the society;  where people are happy and free;  where people are helpful to one another;  where industry operates in harmony with nature, righting the damages caused due to excesses in the past; and where governments are efficient and honest, and truly represent the rights of the people.

This is as valid of a statement of my vision as it was when it came forth over 6 years ago.  In some ways, the world is moving toward this direction.  However, we still have a long way to go.  Further, it will take a concerted effort to cause the changes necessary to manifest this vision.  We've discussed most of the principles involved in creating this change at various places in the Beyond Imagination writings.  These are the "castles in the air" so to speak ... mental constructs that need to be grounded to actualize them in this world.  My sense is that the time is ripe for this to happen.  There is a plasticity to the world right now, especially considering the rapid rate at which things are changing.  We can take advantage of this and take steps to create the society and the reality that we prefer to live within.  It takes some effort and initiative however.  We need to think in new ways and act consistently with what our intuition tells us to manifest.

We chose some exciting times in which to live.  This is a once in a million opportunity that we are witnessing.  Do we have the fortitude to take the leap of faith required to manifest a new age ... and the new world that goes with it?  What will we do with our new found freedom ... and the increased awareness that accompanies it?  Literally, we are on the threshold of being gods in flesh, the creators of our reality and the masters of our fate.  From another framework, the script is already in place to carry us through these times.  We need only focus on what we desire, and allow the army of consciousness to work out the details.  In this new world, we will be actively involved in cooperatively interdependent relationships to a degree beyond which we have experienced before.  But, we do this willingly, because of the greater efficiency it achieves in meeting the needs of the individuals within society.  The society we create will be an entity of itself, serving as a vessel for cosmic consciousness to be more fully enfleshed than would otherwise be possible.

When you think about it ... all resources are society's resources.  It only makes sense to employ these resources in a manner that is efficient and permits the social contract to be met -- supplying each individual with the goods and services they need to be happy in exchange for creatively apply their talents to serve society.

Does that make me a communist?  Perhaps ... but "community" comes from the same root.  Is not the creation of common unity what we are talking about?  This is not a new concept.  However, it has not been tried in a manner that allowed it to work on a major scale.  Neither the USSR nor China were successful in setting up the conditions of the social contract.  And, without that contract, the system simply will not work.  Further, this is a spiritual contract, not just a legal one.  Without the spiritual basis, the system is doomed to fail.  Note that I said "spiritual" ... not "religious".  There is a big difference.  One of the guiding principles for society is to "Never take more than you give".  This is the one principle that assures that there is abundance for all.  It feeds on itself.  The more that one gives, the more that one is entitled to.

But what about capitalism and free enterprise?  Good question.  These are economic systems that have permitted us to generate a great variety of goods and services and make them available to the majority of people in this country.  However, they are also systems that created great disparity between the haves and the have-nots.  It is not clear that such disparity is fair and equitable.  Adjustments are needed.  Do we really need billionaires in this country or even multi-millionaires?  Is what these individuals contribute clearly deserving of such worth?  My sense is that no, such extremes are not warranted.  People deserve to be rewarded for their work, but at some point, enough is enough.

So, what does it take to manifest a new economic system? For one thing, people have to rise up and say that what currently exists is not satisfactory. The collective we constitutes the market for all goods and services. The current status quo prevents or gets in the way of distribution of goods and services to those who need them. How do we change this? First we must realize that it is our collective right to do so. Then we get our legislators to create the necessary laws to make it happen. It is not clear that the market provides sufficient incentive for this. It needs a kick start so to speak to get it moving. Then again, perhaps individual companies can chose to operate in an enlightened way to get the ball rolling. Remember, the spiritual world is embedded within the consensus world that we experience. Within that realm, there are literally no limits to what can be manifest. Sharing is the key ... it is one of the very foundations of cooperative interdependence. We start by sharing whom that we are ... not just on the surface, but deeply. Then, we start to share the services that we can provide using our unique abilities. We do this in whatever manner we are moved to do. At first, we may need to do this on a voluntary basis. However, if enough of us are providing free services ... look at the benefit to society that accrues. As little as four hour per week, just 10 percent of a normal work week unleashes roughly 100 million person years times 10 percent = 10 million person years. That is a lot of effort if harnessed in a manner that is effective in serving society.

Four hours per week is not that much time to give; especially if one knew it was done in a way that was of great benefit. Also, there is a direct return on investment since some of the services that are generated by this volunteer work force will be of benefit to the individual workers. The question arises as to who controls this vast volunteer army ... and how do we do it in a manner that results in high efficiency in delivering services? It is not clear that a bureaucracy will work. The overhead is simply too great. Perhaps we can learn from some of the large projects that have been done undertaken by the government and industry. The other alternative is to find ways to harness smaller units to operate on more of a local scale. Also, many of the services may be information related services. In many cases these can be done from the privacy of one's own home.

I AM THAT I AM THAT YOU ARE!

LOVE,

Wayne
