Another low volume week for
musings. I've just been too busy and too tired to express.
It is time for something major to change. I need to find
something with which I am happy doing. I spoke with someone
yesterday who had been with the company 42 years and had thoroughly
enjoyed what he was doing in all but 5 years. That suggests what
is possible. He also said that moving on to new jobs and new
challenges was part of what kept things exciting. It seems indeed
that it is time for me to do this as well. My decision was the
right one. Though, in some ways, it does not seem to be my
decision at all. I was moved to do what I was moved to do.
Though, I accept full responsibility for my action. We never know
all of the factors that move us to act. Sometimes we think that
we do, but this is a deception. There is always a component of
the unknown in all such decisions. The unknown is good. It
keeps life interesting. There is something about being in the
mystery that is important. The mystery is everything.
Though, it takes a special frame of mind to see this.
What would I do next? Where is Beyond Imagination taking
me? Clearly, not anywhere that I had expected that it would
go. By now, I expected to have touched many folks and to have
made many friends and to have found members of my spiritual
family. But such has not occurred. Why not? What am I
doing wrong or not doing? If indeed these are the things that I
want, then my actions should be consistent with getting them. The
very fact that I have not succeeded suggests that we are not yet doing
the right things. Then again, I am living the live that I am
meant to live. There is no one forcing me to do the things that I
do other than consciousness herself. How much of this am I
choosing? The immediate answer that came to mind is:
all of it! And indeed, so it
is. Yet, what larger contexts do I exist within? What
larger organizations am I part of?
Had an interesting discussion yesterday. Part of the discussions
focused on the idea that the holodeck, the simulation that we exist
within, is constantly being improved by any discoveries that we
make. It is not a matter of the ideal world being different than
the real world. This is the world that is manifest. It is
perfect and whole as it is. At the same time, there are
improvements that can be made. What determines what is an
improvement? The bottom line is utility. However, this may
be in so many dimensions that it is difficult to know the bottom
line. How do we determine what patterns, what forms, what
information, what systems are of value? How do we engineer
systems that are useful and elegant? Every system, including
every living system, is a symbol system and can ultimately be reduced
to what can be expressed via the symbols in the system. Much of
science is about finding and/or creating new symbol systems to express
ever grander behavior whether at the macroscopic or microscopic levels.
How do I end this self-imposed isolation? My grandest idea is to
create a utopian community on the order of the entire world. What
do I need to do to bring my actions in synch with this? Others
have brought forth concepts of utopia. What makes me think that
the one that comes forth through me will be manifest? It will if
it is meant to be. And, I will play whatever role that I am meant
to play. But, don't I have a choice in this as well? Are
there not things that I can do to foster this outcome versus those that
I find to be less desirable?
What is the purpose in sharing all of this in this manner? At
this point, it seems to be the only avenue for sharing available.
But is that true? There are a few other people in my life ...
though, very few outside of the work environment. Though, this
could change by action on my part. The Human Development Club is
a start. But, it seems that much more is needed. One step
at a time. That is how we get from where we are to where we think
we want to go ... one step at a time. The longer this material is
shared and the more of it that is shared, the easier it will be for
people to find it and start exploring what it has to offer. They
may or may not ever get back to you. That is not what is
important. That they use the material for good is what
counts. Good is in a manner that gets us closer to what we say
that we want to be. Kind, peaceful, loving, helpful, caring,
responsible ... most people would agree that such are traits that we
would like to see demonstrated far more in our world. How do we
make that so? What would motivate us to treat people with the
respect that they truly deserve, not to mention our animal friends and
the entire ecosystem of the earth? It is simply a matter of
choice. It doesn't have to cost much. Everyone deserves a
decent living. Everyone deserves not to have to fight for basic
survival. Everyone deserves an education that allows them to soar
as high as their natural abilities and their effort can take
them. Surely, I'm not alone in seeing such things. Though,
looking at the world, one might think differently.
Neale Donald Walsch's idea that God wants NOTHING may help here.
God has no needs or wants. God's will for us is for our will to
be done. It is for us to choose what we will. I've been
reluctant to do this. Part of this came from a false sense of not
wanting to impose my will on anything. But, is this really
useful? Has it brought the things, people, and experiences that I
want in my life to make it full? The immediate answer is no, it
hasn't. Then, it is time to make a new choice and see what
results from that. It is not a matter of being right or wrong, or
of imposing or not imposing. It is a matter of utility, a matter
of doing what works, of doing what achieves results. If the
various metaphysical bestsellers haven't done enough to make a
substantial difference, what hope do I have with the limited audience
of these works? What makes you so certain that they haven't made
a difference? People who have read these books have been
transformed in ways that they had never been before. They've
taken a giant step, and their world is different as a result.
1162 words. The year Becket became Archbishop of Canterbury,
proclaiming his loyalty to God above his loyalty to the King, and the
year Genghiz Khan was born. This was one of the first numbers
that really got me into numerology in 1994. Is there a better way
to live ones live? Is there a better way for a system to
operate? Or, at some level, does the system not care how it is
used to perform whatever functions it performs? Is that not what
feedback mechanisms are all about ... getting the system to prefer
certain states over other states, sometimes for its own benefit, but
also for the benefit of the whole? What is the most effective
economic theory? Communism clearly stated: from each in
accord with their abilities, to each in accord with their needs.
But that doesn't mean much if you don't define "need" and provide an
infrastructure that allows each individual to do their part. John
Nash proved that for capitalism, the best result comes when individual
decisions are made considering both the good of the individual and the
good of the group or the whole. It is not clear that we have put
either of these economic theories into practice in a way that truly
shows their utility.
It still frustrates me that we have numerous cases where people in need
of services cannot afford to employ people in ned of work due to
financial constraints. Something seems desperately wrong with
this. Why don't we simply supply the services to address the
needs and find a way to make the finances work themselves out? It
is as simple as supplying a service credit/debit card that gets
credited whenever a service is rendered or a good is provided and
debited whenever a service is used or goods are purchased.
Everyone would have one card that could also serve as an ID card.
Ultimately, in a world of responsible abundance, people would take what
they need, give more than they take, and be mindful of others and of
the environment as they do so.
I AM THAT I AM THAT YOU ARE! Be Happy and Create Well!

Wayne
