We begin anew ... as we do every day of our lives. Each night we enter the darkness of sleep, only to awaken the next morning with limited awareness of where we have spent nearly 1/3 of our temporal life. It is as if we die each night and are resurrected each morning in basically the same form that we were in when we "lost consciousness" the night before. Hmm ... it is curious that morning and mourning sound the same. Are mornings times or mourning or times of renewal and rebirth? It is up to us to make them the former or the later. If time is not as we perceive it, we have no way of knowing the duration of the time ticks anyway. We only need each instant to be long enough to register on our senses. We only need to see the detail that we are able to observe. And even then, we only need to see interesting detail ... detail that is of concern to us for some reason.
MISSION reversed is NO IS SIM. I first discovered that nearly a decade ago at a time when I was working in the Simulation and Modelling Group at Loral. This was also the Artificial Intelligence Group. At the time, it seemed that the meaning was IS REAL. That is, mission is real. Everything else is illusion. Hmm ... miss-ion and ill-us-ion. Both seem to imply that we are off the mark. The later indicates that we are ill. But what about -ion? I ON. How do we turn I OFF? Is that even possible. Hmm ... is that not what we do each night, and perhaps what we do between moments as well?
I don't really know much about string theory. But there is a sense that everything is frequency, is vibration of strings. The vibrations have frequencies and applitudes. Some of these "vibrations" are experienced as forms, and even as life forms. To change the forms, we change the vibrations. It takes tools to do this. Michaelangelo could now fail to create great sculpture. The forms he unleashed from marble are effectively immortal. They are timeless masterpieces. But, they were there in the original stone awaiting release. Every creative effort is much the same. It is a matter of removing the gross to find the mystery locked within. We can do this at any time. It is just a matter of practice. Strings can combine in a variety of ways to create complex harmonies ... literally, the music of the spheres, the music of the heavens. Our very DNA are strings entertwined. Positioned in space and allowed to multiple, they form the very codes that constitute all life forms that we know. But what are life forms except patterns that exhibit behavior. Yes, complex behavior, but a complexity arising from an overall simplicity. One has to marvel at the machines, the complex systems, and even complex systems of systems that have been created in nature. Yet, we have created/experienced symbol systems that allow us to model and explain much that we see. We are surprised that nature operates so elegantly ... embedding so much meaning on so many different levels into the work that she does. Yet, she works through us. We are her expression. We are the notes and chords and melodies and themes of her symphony ... the neverending symphony of life. How do we know that a star does not possess life? How do we know that the dance of subatomic particles does not have a reality that far transcends our own? Hmm ... actually, there is a world at play there, working out infinite probabilities so that we can select particular ones to "experience". On a larger scale, the entire Earth and everything on her is a system. Similarly, with all of the other planets in the solar system. That life as we know it may not exist there, does not mean intelligence couldn't be occupying forms that we cannot see or perhaps even sense. After all, our instruments only detect what they are meant to detect, what consciousness chooses for them to detect. All of this is magical.
How can I state all of this in the declarative? Where is the authority that permits this? I need no authority. There is none that I would trust anyway. It is enough that this comes forth as a stream of consciousness expression. At least, such is enough for me. Even after over 12 years of expression, the process is still the same. And, it is as mystical and magical as ever. That is good. It keeps things interesting. Connections. We are connection making machines. As such, it is for us to find interesting connections. It is for us to see the beauty and the symmetry and the simplicity that pervades the complexity of our world. There is nothing wrong with complexity. Collectively, we need to help guide it into optimal expression. We do this by applying ourselves fully, by noticing what catches our attention, and by doing what we are moved to do.
Often over the past 12 years, I have been in the midst of a spiritual awakening experience. What makes me think this? The very nature of this expression for one thing. Here we speak of the nature of consciousness and the expression of spirit in flesh. Here we speak of the nature of reality, the nature of Self, of spirit herself, and even of God at times. This is all spiritual stuff in my book. That it comes forth "automatically" as a stream of consciousness from the source within is direct evidence that a force beyond ego is acting in my life. That it is freely shared is also to be noted. This still seems to be a relatively rare occurance in the world though it seems that the number of people sharing in this way is growing. Spirit learns whenever we learn. We are her hands, her eyes, her brain. We are the vessels, the instruments through which she sees all that has been created. This feedback permits greater and grander collective expression in each moment.
Each individual experience the reality that they choose for themselves, though there may be appearances to the contrary. I have been wondering about how so many people in Southern California can afford homes in the 500,000 to over 1 Million range, even many retired people. But, it seems that somehow things have worked out so that this is so. People have reaped what they have sown over the course of their lifetimes. To some degree, they are creating their own piece of heaven on Earth. In the overall scheme of things, it is not how much you have that is important ... rather, it is how appreciative you are of what you have. And, what you have includes relationships as well as things.
It seems as if we are jumping all over the map tonight. But, such is how it is some days. We never know where the stream of consciousness will take us. That is part of the fun of it, the very spontaneity. Yes, it takes a degree of trust to allow it to manifest thus, and then to share it. But, what good is it if it only benefits me. My sense is that others are meant to consume this expression and then to use it to affect how they in turn express. That makes these ideas powerful. It also makes then dangerous. Though, only in the sense that they can impact the status quo. Actually, perhaps that makes them necessary ... for the status quo is not working very well for many in the world. It is time for that to change. I'm reading What God Wants by Neale Donald Walsh. The bottom line expressed in Chapter 13 of course, is that God wants NOTHING! God needs NOTHING! Period, no fine print, no exceptions. This runs counter to what nearly every religion has been telling us throughout history. Yet, it is true. It is obviously true. Then again, I was allowed to stop going to church when I was 11 or 12, and have only been back a few times in over 30 years. Deep within, I knew what I was being taught was wrong. I just knew. How could a God that is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent need or want anything. God does not ask for our sacrifice. God does not ask for anything from us. God does not demand anything from us. God is not a Father or a parent, yet we are the creations of God. And our creations are the creations of spirit through us. But, we are observers and actors as well as creators. God serves us. The very nature of LOVE is to be of service. This is the nature of LIFE and the nature of GOD as well. Being created in the image of our creator, we are meant to SERVE as well. Our very life is our service. We can serve others, or we can serve life and spirit herself, or any combination thereof. Here is where spiritual law comes in. We reap what we sow. The best sowing that we can do is by serving.
Serving does not mean sacrificing our lives for something, rather it involves LIVING our LIVES for SOMETHING. There is a big difference. Sacrificing involves giving up something. Living allow us to give without giving up. One might argue that there is no cause worth dying for, but many causes worth living for. Then again, there have been martyrs in history ... and their roles have been powerful, having great influence on the world.
Getting back to the idea that all time is simultaneous and that the
only time that is ever real is NOW. Where does that leave us?
Our memories are such that if the world were to change move in a completely
new direction, it could literally do so in a moment. It is simply
a matter of stoping the simulation, stopping the matrix, and then starting
it up again with a new set of parameters. We could even fast forward
it or rewind it to wherever we wanted to take it. But, we would only
do this collectively. It is simpler to simply allow this to progress
gradually, trusting that everything is perfect. How could it be otherwise.
Everything is god stuff, and God exists beyond the duality and multiplicity
that we experience as "reality". There is no good or bad. There
simply IS. However, we have free will. We have the ability
to choose what we prefer both individually and collectively. It is
these preferences that result in the collective world that we experience.
If we don't like it, it is up to US to change it. The best way to
effect change is to notice things, really notice them, and voice our satisfaction/dissatisfaction
or preference. We do this by noticing what is beautiful and synergetic
and effective and elegant versus what is ugly and dysfunctional and ineffective
and complicated in the world around us. The goal is to maximize the
former and minimize the later in our world. That is the stuff from
which utopias are made. But, can there be such a thing as utopia?
Does Shangrila or Shamballa exist other than in our imaginations?
If we can imagine it, we can create it. And, if we tire of it, we
can move on to other adventures of consciousness. Why do we need
6 Billion plus humans on the Earth, the vast majority of which are below
poverty, struggling to survive day to day? Something simply seems
wrong about that. We should know better. We should treat one
another better. Allowing needless suffering simply should not be
tolerated. It is time to do something. We have the resources.
We have the technology. All that is lacking is the will to use it
to support us all in an effective and elegant way. When will we realize
that we are ONE, and that so long as any parts suffer, the whole suffers.
It is time to do what it takes to allow the entire planet Earth and all
of its inhabitants to start living up to its potential. Why is it
that this is not obvious to everyone?
LOVE,
