Where next? Does it even
matter anymore? We go where we are moved to go when we are moved
to go there. And, in the end, is not everything here and now
anyway? Something about this does not seem right either.
Here and now are points in the continuum of time and space. What
lies beyond these continuums. Hmm ... we use the concept of
continuum to get beyond duality. There are no opposites, not
really. There are only positionalities on multiple
continuums. Color, taste, roughness/ smoothness, sound vibration
... all of these exist on one or more continuums. However, our
language generalizes and particularizes things. We can't deal
with an infinity of colors so we only have words for a finite number of
them. Similar with emotions. Our ability to verbalize our
emotions is directly proportional to our emotional vocabulary.
Further, the words that we choose to correspond to a particular
emotional state actually create that state. Similarly for mental
states. Logic is not the only mental state. Creative,
intuitive, playful, funny, contemplative, meditative, focused, relaxed
... these are all mental states as well. In addition, there are
states of consciousness: asleep, dreaming, alert, awake, enlightened
are a few of these.
We are free to explore whatever states we chose and to use these in any
manner that serves us, serves others, serves the world or serves
consciousness herself. Note that all of these involve
service. Yes, service is that important. God loves by
serving creation. God makes no demands on us. God's love
and God's service is unconditional. Any demands and conditions
that we experience are thus of our own making. They are our
creations, not God's. To be like God, we need to become aware of
who we are, souls animated by sparks of light from the creator
himself. As the Bible says, we are made in his image. We
are inherently of the same nature. We become more of this by
realizing that we were created for a purpose ... a purpose that God
intended, or the part of us that is directly connected to God
intended. We are like unto God. We are made of
Godstuff. Of what else could God make us? There is nothing
else. Everything is frequency. Everything is vibration and
the interactions of vibrations. Particular vibrations are given
meaning as patterns, as organizations, as form. Yet, it is all
thought. Everything originates in the Mind of God. It is
breath that gives us time. We can count the number of breaths ...
though we can choose to hold our breath for a limited duration as
well. Slow breathing and fast breathing result in very different
states of consciousness. Most of the time we are not really aware
of our breathing however. It is not something that we typically
have to pay attention to. Then again, most people probably don't
pay attention to the entire field of view of their eyes on a regular
basis. It is not necessary in order to carry out most day to day
tasks. In fact, it can even be a hindrance at times.
Then again, as you've
seen many times, I'm not concerned about what most people do on a day
to day basis. Rather, I am fascinated by what I am moved to do
differently on a day to day basis. It is the new and the novel,
especially in the area of consciousness that I find most
fascinating. Hmm ... why don't I carry this forth into other
areas of my life? Part of the answer comes from a focus of
awareness. What is worth focusing my time and attention on.
Hmm ... why did I just associate awareness with time and
attention? Is that an appropriate connection to make? What
is the difference between awareness and consciousness. What does
it mean to be aware of something? To know that it exists or to
know that it is part of my current sensory and/or feeling and/or mental
experience? How does being conscious of something differ from
this? How does knowing of something differ from the experience of
being something? Interesting questions. But these are not
distinctions that I can readily make with my present vocabulary.
