Musings of a Spiritual Warrior

20 January 2002

So, what is in store for today?  Actually, as I write this the day is nearly over.  I was quite tired and slept through most of it.  No attention to numbers, no trips from the house other than a walk with my two furry kids.  No cogitations on geometric forms.  Overall, a very quiet day.  There is a sense that I was a bit burned out and needed the rest.  Anyway, I'm feeling much more myself and far more energetic now.  I'm ready to start another week and see all that it has to offer.

We celebrate Martin Luther King Day tomorrow.  He was a revolutionary who fought for social change until he was assassinated in the late 60's.  His speeches and his dreams of what America could be were right on.  They envisioned a world where people were judged by the quality of their character rather than by the color of their skin;  a world where people truly had equal rights and equal opportunity.  This was not the world in which he lived.  The deep South at the time was quite segregated.  The had a separate but equal policy which in reality meant that the whites had far superior conditions and services than their black counterparts.  There was a lot of hatred in this country at that time.  In fact, it is not clear that it has truly subsided.  It may not be as blatent as having water fountains, restrooms, bus seats, restaurants, motels, ... and so on clearly marked for colored and whites.  But, there is still less than equal treatment of people in the hearts and minds of folks.  It is not clear how to change this, though there have been great strides over the years.  Inter-racial couples are still somewhat of a oddity, but not so rare as they once were.  Further, they seem to be accepted more than in times past.

Differences will always exist between people.  The color of ones skin should definitely not be a major difference in a country where nearly every nationality and ethnicity in the world is represented.  As King said, it is the quality or content of one's character which should be a driving force as to how one is accepted in the world.  This, and ones innate talents and abilities as they are applied to the good of society.  Here, we need equal access to educational resources to allow these talents and abilities to be developed fully so that they can be of greater service.  It is not clear that we are close to having this yet.  Further, we need equal opportunity to the jobs where these talents and abilities can be put to use.  We definitely don't have this either.  So, how do we change this?  How do we make the world fair to all?  Can we ever hope to make it so?  My sense is yes, we can change this by our expectations of the way the world must be.  However, we must back up these expectations with actions that demonstate fairness to all.  Then we can demand that our businesses and organizations follow our personal examples and employ fairness in their dealings with the individuals in society.

As a society, we can do anything that we want to do.  The question, however, is what should we do.  The sense is that we need to build the infrastructure necessary to allow individuals to grow and thrive and apply themselves creatively in service to society.  For this, it seems that we need to establish a social contract ... defining what the individual must do as a member of society and in return what the individual can expect from society.  This is more than an agreement to abide by laws.  This is an enabling contract that nurtures the individual in return for getting the goods and services that various parts of society need.

We've said before:

from each in accord with their abilities, to each in accord with their needs

is the clearest expression of this contract to date.  Yes, it comes from communism.  But that alone is no reason to reject it outright.  Each idea must be judged on its own merit.  That the attempts to establish governments and economies to meet this principal failed dismally, does not mean the idea is flawed ... only that the attempts to manifest it were poorly executed.

It is not yet clear how to set this kind of contract up between an entire society, or between a large enough group to allow it to function effectively.  Further, it is not clear how many are willing to freely choose to join into such a contract.  In a very real way, it seems that our very freedom, something we value highly in the U.S., is somehow at stake.  However, the creation of something greater requires being willing to take a risk and try something new.  Building a better social infrastructure is a good thing, something that benefits all.  Within our present governmental and economic frameworks ... there do not seem to be any clear alternatives for making society a better place.  Part of this is because of a lack of true accountability to society.

428 showed up at least half a dozen times on my drive in to Redondo Beach.  4 x 28 = 112, the 1000 completion of 888.  This is also 4 to 8 = 7:56, the two centers of my triangle Tarot readings.  There is a sense that these triangles have been completed somehow.  For the upward triangle with the 7:The Chariot driver.  These are the cards at the top of the reading.

6

61 ............... 62

22 ................................ 33

This is not surprising.  We've seen 6:The Lovers, 61:Achievement, 62:The Blindfolded Lady, 22:Master Builder, and 33:Master Teacher.  It was just a matter of time before the Triangle was complete.  I guess it is time to see what it means for this to be completed.  It seems that this should change the nature of how reality is experienced.  I welcome whatever change will result.  The readings were done in 1994, so it has been nearly eight years.  Interesting, that is most of the time for the "i" in ellis.  I'd have to go back to the Notes from 1994 to see what the rest of the reading contained.  At this point in time ... it seems that the top three rows are the most important.   Two Master Numbers in the third row, and 666 embedded in the top two rows.

I AM THAT I AM THAT YOU ARE!   Be Happy and Create Well!

LOVE,

Wayne
