Musings of a Spiritual Warrior

7 January 2002

Wow!  I'm on a roll this month ... this makes seven straight day of musings.  In both 2000 and 2001, there were only eight for the entire year.  That just goes to show that the energy has shifted, and the floodgates of consciousness are open once again.  It feels great.  The creative writing process is a powerful stimulant for me.  Being of service to consciousness is extremely important to me.  I can think of no better way to provided this service than to engage all that I am in bringing forth ideas which hopefully are powerful enough to change the world in ways that make it better.  Yes, the mania is here again ... and welcome!  It is great to feel excited about life again, and to know that what I am doing truly has a chance to make a difference; if only by showing others what consciousness is capable of doing in flesh here and now.  For it is truly consciousness engaged in this creation.  I cooperate and allow it to happen through me, but I don't direct what comes forth.  Demonstrating how spirit can be expressed in flesh is one of the missions of a wayshower.

So, what is it that needs to be expressed today?  We've spoken of beliefs, the foundations of society, and the need for a social contract over the past week.  Of these, the social contract is clearly the most important toward establishing a New Society and a New World.  I still believe that Communism got it right ... from each in accord with their ability, to each in accord with their needs.  Yet, how do we establish such a contract?  This is a social contract for individuals in society to enter willingly, not a governmental policy that can forced on people.  Perhaps that is why it has failed to date.  We talk about communist countries and communist governments.  We miss the key point that what matters is the people and the society.  The purpose of a social contract is to codify the relationship of individual to the society in which they live.  The contract spells out what the individual is expected to give to society ... and what in turn the individual can expect from society.  In the United States, we don't really have a contract of this type.  Individuals are pretty much free to do as they will so long as they abide by the laws of the land.  The government provides for some functions, but it does this by taxing individuals and allowing representatives to make decisions as to how much money gets expended on what programs.  The only "contract" per se is that if individuals will abide by the laws (and pay their taxes, of course), they are free to do what they will.  The economic system offers opportunity for employment, but does not really guarantee anything ... other than a fair wage (driven by market conditions) for a fair days labor.

The sense is that we live at a time when we should demand more than this.  A society is an organization that we collectively build of our own free will.  It is something that we should choose to be part of ... not just are part of because of where we happen to be born.  That is how we make things better.  We choose to live by higher principles that make things better for all.  I know, however, that communism is somewhat of a dirty word at present.  Yet, the ideal on which it was founded truly came from the light of spirit.  Our mind/body is a great example of a communist system.  Every cell gets what it needs to live and grow and experience, in return for doing that function for which it is most suited, designed, and trained to do.  Cells are organized into organs which perform particular functions for the whole body.  The result of the cooperation of the cells is a lifeform, us, that is able to do new things that none of the individuals were able to do without entering this mutual contract with one another.  In a similar way, when we talk about society, we are talking about the mind/body of humankind.  We have already seen some of the kinds of things that can be created in social structures and institutions.  However, my sense is that this is still the starting point.  As a society, we are still expressing as young infants ... still fighting wars, still choosing to hate, still choosing to fear rather than to love, still allowing many people to suffer needlessly, still competing rather than cooperating, and so on.  It is time for this to change.  However, it will only change if people choose to change it.  Many of the ideas needed to facilitate this change have already been thought up ... and in many cases, implementations have been attempted.   We need to learn from this, find out what worked and what didn't and why; and then choose to use the things that worked.  Oh, don't get me wrong, there are many things that are yet to be discovered in this area.  But, the process of discovery and change can be a very good thing when it is done right.  We can learn alot from how we have adapted to the nonlinear pace of technological change over the past century.  We are capable of a lot more than we may know or guess, especially collectively.  However, to make this effective, we need to find ways to organize so that we eliminate the repetition of many people having to learn the same lessons.  We need to cooperate far better than we have before and freely share rather than hide information from each other.

The world can indeed be a better place.  The principles necessary for this improvement are available for implementation.  So, what keeps us from doing what it takes to implement positive change?  Greed is a major factor.  Those with economic and political power do not want to lose what they have ... regardless of the impact on the masses.  This is not all their fault.  Many people in these positions are doing the best they can within the world as they understand it.  They are attempting to do the right thing.  In fact, most people are doing what they can to do what they believe to be right under the circumstances that they find themselves having to live under.  Yes, I have a very optimistic view concerning the nature of people.  That comes from knowing that our nature is spirit enfleshed in flesh ... yes, for everyone.  But what about evil people such as Hitler, or more recently, Osama Bin Laden.  My sense is that while their minds and beliefs may be a bit warped (OK, extremely warped), they too are doing what they believe to be right.  In both cases, the world went to war against these individuals and their followers ... in one case the country of Germany, in the other a network of terrorists.  And, in the end, we've learned lessons about who we are and what we can and cannot take for granted.  There is a much stronger sense of pride in country and unity in the United States then there was prior to 9/11/01.  In fact, United We Stand is prevalent on billboards and bumper stickers.   Further, there is a much more vocal and deeper connection to the motto, In God We Trust.  One might ask why God would allow such senseless destruction to occur.  But, it is not so much a matter of God allowing, as it is about us creating the reality we experience.  Nothing happens to us that we don't somehow agree to and attract at other than conscious levels.  It is easy to place the blame outside, on a network of terrorists.  It is not clear whether we have asked the question of what did we do to bring this upon ourselves.  Things don't just happen.  There is a reason behind them.  This was clearly a wake up call of a major order.  What we believed to be safe, was shown to be vulnerable.  Now, we have a lot of attention and resources being applied to homeland defense.  This is a new concept for us.  It is not clear what this corresponds to psychologically.  Our eyes have definitely opened up to brand new forms of threats, that while they existed before, it was not on a scale that forced us to pay them much attention.  Many developed nations in the world have faced terrorism for quite awhile.

Osama = 61141 = 13:Death.  Bin = 295 = 16:The Tower.  Laden = 31455 = 18: The Moon.  This suggests someone moved strongly by emotions bringing 13:Death, and forcing an awakening (16:The Tower) experience.  Interesting, that seems to be exactly what happened.  The total is 13 + 16 + 18 = 47:Seven of Cups = The seven vanities.  This is the reverse of 74:The Benefactor, one of the forms of G-d.

So, what will be the wake up call that gets people to cooperate and work together to create a better world.  The sense is that it has to be something that is truly of world import ... effectively forcing us to choose a different way to live. Yes, we still have free will, but there is nothing preventing conditions from facilitating making one particular choice versus another.  Spirit indeed works in mysterious ways.  There is a spiritual agenda being played out in the consensus world.  We, as individuals have particular roles to play.  How we play these roles is left to us, but it seems that the role we came to play is predestined.  My sense is that we choose it before we enter this existence.  Then, we naturally grow into it as our lives unfold because it is what we are meant to do.  Many people live ordinary lives in an extraordinary way.  It seems that it matters not what our role is ... the key is to throw ourself fully into it and play it to the best of our ability, learning as much about the nature of self and reality as we can in the process.  Not everyone is meant to think deeply about things.  The body has many parts, only a small portion of which constitute the brain, and a small portion of that dedicated to the higher functions of mind and spirit.

Yet, on the other hand, each one of us is spirit expressing in flesh here and now.  To more fully express whom that we are, we need to have supportive infrastructures that allow us to become whom that we truly are ... and then to express that as fully as we can.  We can create these supportive environments in small groups between couples, friends, and various types of organizations; but, the goal is to start doing this on a much larger scale ... that of a neighborhood, a town, a city, a metropolitan area, a country, or even the whole world.  This starts by dreaming of what could be, and believing that we can indeed make it so though our collective action.  As individuals, we can choose our own actions.  If we look within and trust what we find, we will know what action is right for us.  Then it is a simple matter of choosing to take that action.  Actually, it may not be so simple, because often it involves risk; the risk of being judged, the risk of losing something that we already have, the risk that the action may make things worse.  However, the right action is always for the good of all concerned ... though it may not appear so from our limited perspective.  It helps to have an unconditional trust in spirit, and the inherent spiritual nature of everything.  Yet, I don't know how you develop this if you don't already have it.  It's like believing in God, one either does, does not, or questions whether God might exist.  Consciousness/spirit is much easier.  It definitely exists.  That it is ONE is another matter that is much more open to speculation.  From my perspective, it truly helps to belief that there is only ONE consciousness orchestrating and animating all expression.  It makes sense to me because in the beginning there was only God or Spirit or Consciousness.  The only thing from which to manifest anything was itself.  There was nothing separate.   In fact, there is nothing separate.  It is only the belief in separation that allows this illusion to be experienced.  Yet, illusions are not bad, in fact they are quite useful, permitting a focus of awareness and expression that could not otherwise exist.

Each of us is a unique aspect of the one consciousness ... a unique facet of the same diamond.  What we experience and how we experience it are fresh and new.  Spirit learns from every experience, every success and every failure.  It is time we conduct our affairs so that we start doing this consciously as well; allowing our successes to become everyones successes and our failures to become everyones lessons learned.  There is nothing wrong with trying new things and failing.  Look around, nearly everything in nature undergoes many failures for each success.  The trick is to keep on going and to keep on trying new things. If these are coming from spirit, success is assured maybe sooner than one might think.  I've talked before of waiting to act until I am moved by spirit.  I don't know how this works for others.  And, I have no reason to think that because something feels right to me that it must be right for others as well.  It might be right, but it might not ... depending on the individual.

I AM THAT I AM THAT YOU ARE!   Be Happy and Create Well!

LOVE,

Wayne
