Dedication to Julie Dawn Auman
Alias: Penguin :)
Where do I start...
I guess, the biggest reasons I have for dedicating this poem to you are : I felt you needed the recognition and the honor. Although, I'm hardly a great writer, I hope it makes you see just how happy I am that I found a friend like you. Perhaps, when I've actually published a book, you'll feel really special! So, on with the honor:
I have always looked up to you, ever since that 26th of August when we first met. I guess it's fortunate that our being Roomates led us to be Great Friends. Even though many miss the caring side you have (and don't deny it) I am extremely happy that you showed it to me.
I'm glad you were there for me when I needed it most.
I'm glad you put up with all the craziness around those hard times in my life.
I'm glad , this past year, we learned to bake!
I'm glad that even though we're far apart, we will remain friends for all time.
I'm glad you invited me to see Pantera this past February, even though I'm still jealous . . . :)
I'm glad the memories we have from our three years of friendship will remainthere ; like pictures in our mind to reference whenever we need them back in our lives.
Most of all, I'm glad when I watch the movies Beaches, Fried Green Tomatoes, or Mortal Combat, I'll always think of you (and , maybe, cry a little bit).
I am so very happy for all the successes you've achieved already in just 22 years on this earth. You are a beautiful person, Julie; never doubt that! May you find the fortune and true companionship you've sought for so long in the days not too far ahead. I have no doubt you will. . .
Thank you Julie,
Jamie
