How to study and understand your Bible

Study the Bible Itself, not books about the Bible. The Bible is the best commentary on the Itself you can ever read. Don't be identified by someone else's translation of what the Bible means: such as Calvin and Arminius they had their own agendas!

Miles Coverdale 1488 to1569.

It will help you to understand Scriptures, if you mark not only what is spoken or written, but of whom or to whom, with what words, at what time, where, to what intent, with what circumstances, considering what goes before and what follows after.

Miles Coverdale, was the first man to translate the entire Bible into the English language. While the Bible is the inspired Word of God and is an accurate record of events and sayings of men, we must remember: All Scripture is for me. It is not all addressed to me nor is it written about me.

2Timothy 2:15. Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

William R Newell-1868 to1956

You can judge any man's preaching or teaching by this rule :- Is he Pauline? Does his doctrine start and finish according to those statements of Christian doctrine uttered by the Apostle Paul? No matter how wonderful a man may seem in his gifts and apparent consecration if his Gospel is not Pauline, it is not the Gospel; and we might as well get our minds settled at once as to that.

Paul calls the gospel of Jesus Christ, my gospel!

Look at these next few verses, (Romans 11:13) says, that Paul is the apostle of the Gentiles. (Romans 16:25) Tell us that we are established by Paul's Gospel. And the next two verses shows you how important Paul's gospel is. (2Corinthians 4:3-4) If Paul's gospel is hid it is hid to them that are lost, because the god of this world has blinded the minds of those who do not believe.

Romans 11:13. For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office:

Romans 16:25. Now to him that is of power to establish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began.

Romans 16:26. But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:

2Corinthians 4:3. But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:

2Corinthians 4:4. In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

Paul's gospel is: The Gospel of Jesus Christ

1Corinthians 15:1-4 Is the gospel of our salvation. These four verses very clearly proclaim that Christ died for our sins, and He was buried then after three nights and three days in the tomb God raised him from the dead, according to the Scriptures. (Galatians 2:7-8) Will show to whom the gospel of the circumcision and the gospel of the uncircumcision were committed.

Galatians 2:7. But contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me, as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter;

Galatians 2:8. (For he that wrought effectually in Peter to the apostleship of the circumcision, the same was mighty in me toward the Gentiles:)

The Gospel

1Corinthians 15:1. Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand

1Corinthians 15:2. By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

1Corinthians 15:3. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

1Corinthians 15:4. And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Circumcision and uncircumcision

Yes, Paul's gospel is to and it is for the Gentiles, and kings and the children of Israel. God said, Paul is a chosen vessel unto me to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings and the children of Israel.  Brothers and sisters in Christ we are Gentiles. Paul's gospel is the gospel of the grace of God, and it is our gospel!  All of Paul's writings are personally to and for the church the body of Christ. What is so unique about Paul? First of all only Paul was Christ's chosen vessel to bring the gospel of the grace of God without the law, to the Gentiles, kings and the children of Israel.

"Please note." In the body of Christ there is no difference between Jew and Gentile, bond nor free, male nor female, we are all one. However, for the kingdom church there is quite a difference, plus there are no Gentiles.

Galatians 2:7. But contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me, as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter;

Galatians 2:8. (For he that wrought effectually in Peter to the apostleship of the circumcision, the same was mighty in me toward the Gentiles:)

My friend, God had two gospels for a short time, that were completely different! Needless to say they were committed to different  apostles. Peter and the eleven's gospel was fully under the law, however Paul's gospel was without the law. Therefore, they are definitely not the same!

The mystery of Christ

Ephesians 3:4. Whereby, when you read, you may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)

The Lord Jesus Christ chose, and saved the apostle Paul on the road to Damascus and gave him a different gospel. God also chose Paul to preach this new gospel to the Gentiles, kings and the children of Israel. Christ revealed the mystery gospel to Paul alone, that had been kept secret since the world began. (Romans 16:25). My friend Paul was not an egotist or a chauvinist as some folks like to say. Paul calls the gospel of Jesus Christ according to the revelation of the mystery, "my gospel"!  Bear in mind the Holy Spirit, inspired each of these words!

How can some folks say Paul is not my pattern, Jesus is my pattern! Do you want to follow Christ? Then you must do what Christ says! 1Corinthians 11:1 Follow Paul as he follows Christ! Don't they believe God? Look what the Holy Spirit says, in 1Timothy 1:16, that Paul is our pattern for everlasting life. My friend the only way we can please God: Is by faith, believe what He says! The Lord Jesus chose the apostle Paul to be the master builder of His new church, called the body of Christ which is made up of Jew and Gentile alike, it is the church of the one new man.

Therefore Paul's gospel of the grace of God is Christ's new gospel for this new dispensation of the grace of God. A really good reason for Paul calling the gospel that he preaches, my gospel, is to show the difference between Peter's gospel of the kingdom and Paul's gospel of the grace of God!  Don't forget, all Scripture is God breathed, therefore God the Holy Spirit is the author of all Scripture.

When the Holy Spirit tells a writer to write one thing and another writer to prohibit or to change what the first writer wrote, that shows that there is a dispensational change. Remember God is sovereign, He can do or change what ever He wants. Since He is not the god of confusion He lets us know when He makes a change. However after a change is brought to our attention, then we become responsible to do it.

Christ revealed the mystery gospel to Paul alone!

The revelation of the mystery teaches us that those who believe's Paul's gospel of Jesus Christ are baptized into the body of Christ by the Holy Spirit without a drop of water. Therefore we are saved and sealed by the Holy Spirit. How can you ask Jesus to come into your heart?  Jesus cannot hear you, until you believe the gospel, believing is the only thing you can do that is not a work. Therefore you must believe 1Cor.15:1-4 then you are saved.

When we believe the gospel, the Lord Jesus will take up residence in our hearts. However, He gave us the apostle Paul for a pattern for everlasting life for this new dispensation of the grace of God. This puts all of mankind on the same level. In other words in the body of Christ there is neither Jew nor Gentile, rich nor poor, bond nor free, male nor female, we are all one in the body of Christ.

Therefore all who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ's finished work on the cross; are baptized by the Holy Spirit and placed into the body of Christ. Therefore God says, if any man be in Christ he is a new creation, old things are passed away, and all things are become new. Have you ever wondered why God would tell us to follow the apostle Paul as he followed the Lord Jesus Christ?  Why not tell us only to follow Christ? Because, we cannot follow Christ in His earthly ministry, it was only to the lost sheep, of the house of Israel.

We are not the house of Israel, therefore we need to follow a different path, so we follow Paul as he followed Christ from heaven. Have you read 2Corinthians 4:3-4, where it says, if Paul's gospel is hid it is hid to them that are lost? In all truthfulness when Paul says, our gospel he is speaking of the gospel given to him alone by the Lord Jesus Christ in heaven, for the Gentiles, and kings and the children of Israel. My friend all of the apostle Paul's writings come directly from the risen and glorified Lord Jesus Christ in heaven; every word is Holy Spirit inspired.

In 2 Peter 3:15-16. The apostle Peter verifies that Paul's gospel is Scripture. for that reason I can not over state the importance of adhering to Paul's gospel. I hope you can understand what I am saying. Or do you know a better way for the Holy Spirit to say we should follow Paul? Paul said, if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost. Once more, Paul's gospel is not a part of the gospel of the kingdom that the Lord Jesus and the twelve preached!

The Holy Spirit admonishes us to follow Paul as he followed the Lord Jesus Christ in heaven as opposed to Christ's earthly ministry. That is why God says, Paul is our pattern for everlasting life. When I first read 2Corinthians 4:3, it really shook me up, because most of the folks I know almost completely ignore the apostle Paul. Then I read 2Corinthians 4:4, and it really opened my eyes. Those who ignore the apostle Paul, the god of this world has blinded their minds to the truth.

Look!...Peter says, Paul's Gospel is Scripture

2Peter 3:15. and regard the patience of our Lord as salvation; just as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given him, wrote to you,

2Peter 3:16. as also in all his letters, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which the untaught and unstable distort, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures, to their own destruction.

In this dispensation of the grace of God, the Lord Jesus Christ gave us the apostle Paul  and the gospel of the grace of God for the Gentiles, and kings and the children of Israel. Just look who Peter says, twist and distorts the gospel in his day; the untaught and the unstable the very same folks that twist and distort it today, small wonder, wouldn't you say?

Romans 2:16. For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first and also to the Greek.

The gospel of Jesus Christ for today, can only come through the pen of the apostle Paul. I pray that God will grant you that understanding!  Therefore, study to show thyself approved unto God a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth. Most of all! Rightly divide the Word of Truth. Please bear in mind, you cannot understand the Word of Truth with out the use of right division.

My gospel, a mystery

The phrase according to my gospel is used three times in Scripture. Three other times Paul called it our gospel. Paul is referring to the mystery gospel that the Lord Jesus Christ gave to him alone, for all of mankind. Paul's mystery gospel is not part of the gospel of the kingdom that the twelve taught. If you want to read the gospel of Jesus Christ according to the revelation of the mystery, then you should read Romans through Philemon because the mystery gospel is found nowhere else in Scripture!

The mystery gospel was a progressive revelation given to the apostle Paul alone. The Lord Jesus Christ chose Paul to present His gospel before the Gentiles, kings and the children of Israel. Paul put the gospel of the grace of God in print for all of mankind. He also made it known that all who received   this gospel that it comes directly from the risen and glorified Lord Jesus in heaven. Paul's gospel was the preaching of Jesus Christ according to the revelation of the mystery that was kept secret hid in the mind of God since the world began.

The Lord Jesus had twelve apostles and the whole nation of Israel that He could have used to bring the Gentiles to Himself but, Israel would not believe. Therefore, Paul an apostle, not of the twelve, chosen out side of the nation Israel, thereby putting a separation or partition between the gospel of the kingdom and the mystery gospel of the grace of God. Now, Christ's message of salvation has changed, He has turned to the Gentiles through the apostle Paul without the law. Furthermore Christ never commissioned the twelve to preach the mystery gospel of the grace of God.

If the twelve would have won all Israel, then, they could have preach the gospel of the kingdom to every creature. The gospel of kingdom was Christ's earthly ministry to the Jews only, but it could have been for the whole world if, the nation of Israel would have believed. Therefore that is why God chose the apostle Paul out side of the nation of Israel for the Gentiles and, kings and the children of Israel, and gave him a different gospel for the whole world, this includes the nation of Israel. After the salvation of Saul of Tarsus the worlds stage became level at the cross.

By Revelation

The gospel that Paul calls our gospel is the mystery gospel of the grace of God that Christ gave him by revelation. The Lord Jesus Christ taught the twelve the gospel of the kingdom when He walked with them here on earth. But that gospel, was to none but the lost sheep of the house of Israel, under the law. Because of the law, Christ could have nothing to do with the Gentiles during His earthly ministry, the Gentiles were aliens from the commonwealth of Israel; they were without God in the world and they had no hope.

From heaven God chose Paul as the spokesman for this new dispensation of the grace of God, therefore Paul is the apostle of the Gentiles, he is our apostle. Paul's ministry is one of reconciliation, which came directly from the risen and glorified Lord Jesus Christ in heaven. For that reason it is the only gospel for the world today. All of the other Scriptures are for our learning, only Paul's message is for our appropriation.

Paul said, he did not receive his gospel from any man!  He received it from the risen and glorified Lord Jesus Christ in heaven! He gave him a better and different gospel for the Gentiles, and kings and the children of Israel. The Holy Spirit inspired Paul to call the gospel that he preached, "my gospel".   Therefore do not be deceived Paul's gospel is not the same gospel that Christ and the twelve preached while He was here on earth. They preached the gospel of the circumcision, which is the gospel of the kingdom, and that gospel has been set aside, to await the tribulation.

Paul's gospel is for all of mankind, and it is the pure grace of God. Understand, God the Holy Spirit says, we do not know Christ after the flesh, which is His earthly ministry. He also says if we are in Christ we are a new creation.

Paul's gospel is not the same.

I believe that in order to separate the gospel of the grace of God from the gospel of the kingdom; God put a lack of understanding on the part of the twelve. But God gave the twelve just enough understanding to know that Paul's gospel was Scripture. God did not want the twelve to preach or to pervert Paul's gospel. The gospel of the kingdom was not Paul's. Because, the gospel of the kingdom was under the Mosaic law, therefore it is for Jews only, nevertheless, due to their unbelief, that gospel was quickly fading away.

Don't be confused! Before the conversion of the apostle Paul the Gentiles were lost without hope in the world. The Gentiles had no part in the covenants of promise made with the house of Israel. Look at Ephesians 2:12-13.

Lost, without hope, but now!

Ephesians 2:12. That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

Ephesians 2:13. But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

The twelve failed to win all Israel!

We know that the twelve failed to win all Israel to Christ, therefore one year after Christ's ascension their program and the nation was set aside in unbelief according to the parable of the fig tree. The Lord Jesus Christ chose a new apostle in Acts 9:15 for the Gentiles, kings and the children of Israel. God saved the apostle Paul outside of the nation of Israel and appointed him as the apostle of the Gentiles. Don't forget, the Lord Jesus Christ is our Savior. However, the apostle Paul is our pattern for everlasting life. Therefore we should become completely familiar with all of Paul's writings. Do not neglect the other Scriptures, they are for our learning.

2Corinthians 4:3-4, are two verses that we almost always ignore, some so called Christians stay in the Old Testament and the four Gospels. For some strange reason they seem to avoid the apostle Paul like the plague. But don't forget, God the Holy Spirit tells us that Paul is our apostle and we will be rewarded by adhering to Paul's teachings. If you do not understand nor believe these next verses, look closely at verse four, it tells you why!

Romans 2:16. In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.

2Corinthians 4:3. But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:

2Corinthians 4:4. In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

What Gospel?

A very good question: What gospel is Paul talking about?  It is not the gospel of the kingdom. It is, a different gospel, it is the gospel of Jesus Christ according to the revelation of the mystery that was hid in God since the world began. It is the only gospel for the entire world today!

2Timothy 3:16. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

2Timothy 3:17. That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

So,which gospel should we follow? It is perfectly clear to me and hopefully to you as well, we should follow the gospel of the grace of God that Paul calls my gospel. Because it is the gospel of Jesus Christ according to the revelation of the mystery that was kept secret hid in the mind of God since the world began. When Paul says lost, frankly, he means exactly that, because if Paul's gospel is hid from you, you are lost. But, we still can hear folks saying, Paul's writings should not be in our Bible. If that's your persuasion may I caution you? There is no other Scripture given under heaven where by we are saved.

As I have said, many times before, there is no salvation for the Gentiles in any other Scriptural writings, other than the apostle Pauls' writtings to and for the Gentiles. Did you know that Christ's earthly ministry was only to the Jews to fulfil the promises made to the fathers? The gospel of the kingdom did not include the Gentiles. This changed only after Christ's death, burial, resurrection and ascension back to the Father. Only then could Christ send salvation to the Gentiles, but it was apart from the law of Moses. According to Ephesians 2:12-13, without Paul's gospel of the grace of God we would still be lost and in our sin.

Remember Peter's statement in, 2Peter 3:16, all of Paul's writings are Scripture. You might want to look at 2 Peter 3:15-16 again. 2Corinthians 4:3-4 calls for a more careful examination, of what we believe because our knowledge of Paul's gospel is imperative. I ask you, is Paul's gospel hid from you?  You must first believe 1Corinthians 15:1-4, then you should ask the Lord to open the eyes of your understanding that you might believe Paul's gospel. Then you should read 2Corinthians 4:3-4 again. Can you see any other way to read these verses? This message is crystal clear.

Here is a breakdown of 1Corinthians 15:1-4. Paul delivered this gospel to us, also where he got it and what it stands for.  Then verse two tells us we are saved by this gospel. Verse three tells us that Paul was instructed to tell us that Christ died for our sins, according to the Scriptures and verse four finalizes what we must believe to be saved. My friend, Paul's gospel is definitely not the gospel of the kingdom; that so many so-called Christians cling to. The gospel of the kingdom is not ours. Verses three and four tells us that Paul got his gospel, from the Lord Jesus Christ in heaven. Here we find the reason for his death burial and resurrection.

Christ died on the cross for all the sins of the world. The apostle Paul's instructions are to teach the Gentiles that Christ died for our sins, and that He was buried in a tomb for three nights and three days, He arose again after the third day. He stayed with His apostles and instructed them for 40 days. He ascended back to the Father's right hand to make intercession for us day and night. My friend if you do not know Christ and He does not know you, you will never understand the gospel.

Paul says, be not ignorant!

Paul said, do not be ignorant, or untaught, and do not be deceived. In this dispensation of the Grace of God, no one can be saved through the gospel of the kingdom. We are unified through Paul's gospel: one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of us all. God gave us one gospel that was preached to us by one apostle. Paul's gospel is the only gospel for our salvation and for the world today. The kingdom gospel has been set aside to await the tribulation. The Church the body of Christ will not have any part of the tribulation.

Ephesians 4:5. One Lord, one faith, one baptism,

Ephesians 4:6. One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

1Thessolonians 1:5. For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.

1Thessolonians 1:10. And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.

2Thessolonians 2:14. Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Romans 15:4. For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

Paul's Gospel

My friend 1Corinthians 15:1-4, is the only gospel for our salvation to the whole world today.  You must understand that without Paul's gospel, you can not be saved! Again, Paul's gospel is the gospel of Jesus Christ according to the revelation of the mystery. If taking Jesus into your heart means you have believed the gospel of the grace of God then it's a good thing. Of all of the Biblical writings today, we should believe and cling to the writings of the apostle Paul.

Two Gospels, I hope I don't sound like a broken record!

For sure the gospel of the kingdom is gospel number one:  This gospel was preached by John the Baptist, then Christ and the twelve. But, this gospel is no longer valid since Acts 28:28, when God finally set it along with the nation of Israel aside to await the tribulation. Gospel number two: Is the gospel of Jesus Christ according to the revelation of the mystery, it is the gospel of the grace of God, it is Paul's gospel for the world today. It is also called the gospel of the uncircumcision: Our requirements are simply: believe in the Lord Jesus Christs' finished work on the cross.

Christ died was buried and He arose again the third day, this is what we must believe to be saved. The other Scriptures tell us that He spent forty days here on earth teaching His disciples and that He was seen of over five hundred people at one time then He ascended back to the Father's right hand to make intercession for us. When Paul says, according to the Scriptures, he is of course referring to the Old Testament Scriptures. Therefore, we do not neglect the Old Testament, it is for our learning, also it gives us a better understanding of what Paul means, according to the Scriptures.

We are admonished by the Holy Spirit to study the Scriptures and rightly divide the word of Truth. Look at 2Timothy 2:15 it says rightly divide the Word of Truth. Other versions say rightly handle the Word of Truth. That is not the same as, rightly dividing the Word of Truth. But use your own judgement. To cut straight is to rightly divide the Word of Truth. To rightly handle the Word of Truth can mean a lot of different things.

2Timothy 2:15. Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

When we rightly divide the Word of Truth we study the entire Bible separating Paul's writing's from the gospel of the kingdom, and separating the nation Israel from the church the body of Christ. Follow Coverdales template when you study the Scriptures. And that will give you a better understanding of the Word of God for today.

Miles Coverdale 1488 to1569.

It will help you to understand Scriptures, if you mark not only what is spoken or written, but of whom or to whom, with what words, at what time, where, to what intent, with what circumstances, considering what goes before and what follows after.

Again according to Romans 15:4 all the other Scriptures are written for our learning, but not for our salvation. The apostle Paul's gospel alone is for our salvation. So don't turn Romans 15:4 into 2Timothy 3:7

The Jewish confession of Faith

The Jews were required to believe the confessions of Peter, John and Martha's listed below for salvation under the kingdom gospel.  Remember a Jew is a Hebrew that keeps the law.

Matthew 16:16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

John 20:31. But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

John 11:27. Martha saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world.

Look carefully at these three confessions! Did you see any mention of Christ's death, burial, resurrection and ascension back to the Father's right hand for salvation? Neither of the three mention it, because, they had only to believe in His name; that he was who he said, He was, the Son of the living God, and they had to keep the law.

The one new man confession!

Christ's heavenly message through the apostle Paul alone. I believe in Christ's finished work on the cross. That He died for my sins, that He was buried then after three nights and three days in the heart of the earth God raised Him from the dead, He ascended back to the Father's right hand to make intercession for us day and night. The requirements were finally different for the Jews until Acts 28:28, but now we are all the same. Here are several verses, that will help explain what believe on the Lord Jesus Christ really means.

Romans 11:13. For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office:

Romans 16:25. Now to him that is of power to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began.

1Corinthians 15:1. Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

1Corinthians 15:2. By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

1Corinthians 15:3. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

1Corinthians 15:4. And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.

Titus 2:11. For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,

Why there is No Excuse

No one at the Great White Throne judgement will be excused. My friend there is no Scripture Old or New Testament that contains the secrets of Jesus Christ according to the revelation of the mystery that was hid in God since the world began. God revealed it to the apostle Paul, by the risen and glorified Lord Jesus Christ in heaven. Now the mystery gospel belongs to the church, the body of Christ. Look at this next verse, it tells us how God deals with His secrets.

Deuteronomy 29:29a The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and our children for ever...

The mystery gospel has been revealed to us, now it belongs to the church the body of Christ for ever.

Our Doctrine!

2Timothy chapter two and verse eight confirms that Jesus was of the seed of David and that He was raised from the dead according to Paul's gospel. Why does Paul restate all the pertinent Old Testament Scriptures for us in his epistles? Personally I believe it is because the Holy Spirit intended to give us the complete gospel for salvation in the writings of the Apostle Paul. God gave us history in the Old Testament; and the four gospels. Paul gave us the gospel of the grace of God in his epistles. Therefore we have the complete gospel for the world today.

We can not say the Old Testament is not for me. Because, Paul quotes nine of the ten commandments for our use, These commandments are the moral code for society, without them there would be chaos. Remember the entire Bible is for our learning, but, Paul's writings are for our appropriation.

Romans 15:4. For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

I can see no other choice than to follow Paul as he followed the Lord Jesus Christ in heaven. These instructions were given to us after Christ's death, burial, resurrection and ascension back to the Fathers right hand. The ministry of the twelve has been set aside for now, awaiting the tribulation. Then the gospel of the kingdom, will be restored and it will be preached in all the world by 144000 young Jewish evangelists during the tribulation.

The Church, The Body Of Christ Is the one new man

2Corinthians 5:16. Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.

2Corinthians 5:17. Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creation: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

One of the biggest stumbling blocks in all of Christendom today seems to be: How do we correctly follow the Lord Jesus Christ? Sadly the majority of Christendom has chosen to follow Christ in His earthly ministry. However, that ministry was finally set aside in Acts 28:28. Paul tells us, we do not even know Christ after the flesh which is His earthly ministry. Therefore, neither Jew nor Gentile can have any part in that ministry today. We only know Christ according to the revelation of the mystery and that is, after His death, burial, resurrection and ascension back to the Fathers right hand.

Look! No More Water Baptism!

1Corinthians 1:17. For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.

1Corinthians. 11:1. Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.

We must not forget, our baptism is without water, it is silent, it is performed by the Holy Spirit, at the moment of salvation, we are all baptized into the body of Christ. This is the ONE Baptism spoken of in Ephesians 4:5 and 1Corinthians 12:13.

1Corinthians 12:13. For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

Ephesians 4:5. One Lord, one faith, one baptism,

Some folks remind us that Paul did baptize some, and that is correct. But, he stopped when the Lord Jesus showed him it was unnecessary. Paul's helpers did not baptize in his place as some folks would have you believe, because water baptism is not for the church the body of Christ.

The reason being, our sins are washed in the blood of Jesus Christ, not in the waters of baptism; the waters of baptism can not wash away sin for today. We are Ambassadors for Christ. But we are not the nation of Israel, nor are we that Royal Priesthood. We must not claim promises made to the fathers, frankly because we are not Jews.

Thank you for reading this page. I try and keep it updated and I am always looking for better and clearer ways to say what I have already said.
