This page was developed from Roy Kreeger's Sunday school lesson plan back in 1992. I believe that it will show that the gospel of the kingdom and the gospel of the grace of God are completely different but the same God. Peter was the spokesman for the gospel of the kingdom. And Paul was the spokesman for the gospel of the grace of God which is the gospel of Jesus Christ according to the revelation of the mystery that was kept secret before the world began.

Peter and Paul had completely different messages. Peter's message was under the law, Paul's message was pure grace. It is impossible to understand these two gospels with out the use of right division. God's attributes are always the same but that does not make Him do things the same way all the time.

"Things that differ-Are a combination of six commands before,

And six commands after the cross".

I used Roy's six before the cross, and six after the cross commands along with Pastor Albert Bray's question; what did God mean when the apostle Paul said, when that which is perfect is come? What is that which is perfect? I began writing my web pages with these two subjects in mind. I tried very hard on my own to get the answers to both of these subjects.

The answer to pastor Bray's question, what is that which is perfect? became very clear to me shortly after Roy's before and after lesson. That which is perfect is: the gospel of the grace of God, which is the preaching of Jesus Christ according to the revelation of the mystery that Paul calls my gospel.

I used the KJV for printing out the pertinent Scripture verses from Roy's lesson plan to make it easier to understand. We should note that none of these "before" commands concerned the Gentiles because they did not have the law. But like the Jews the Gentiles were made guilty by the law. Actually the Gentiles were without God in the world and we had no hope. After Christ died and arose again and ascended back to the Father; He chose Paul as the apostle of the Gentiles. Paul gave us hope through the Lord Jesus Christ when he said Romans 11:13.

Romans 11:13 For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office:

Ephesians 2:12-13.

v12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

v13. But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

Romans 3:19. Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.

Here are the before and after commands:

1a-Before: Observe the sabbath and keep it holy: (The forth

commandment)

Exodus 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

(Numbers 15:32-36):

v32. And while the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man that gathered sticks upon the sabbath day.

v33. And they that found him gathering sticks brought him unto Moses and Aaron, and unto all the congregation.

v34. And they put him in ward, because it was not declared what should be done to him.

v35. And the Lord said unto Moses, the man shall be surely put to death: all the congregation shall stone him with stones without the camp.

v36. And all the congregation brought him without the camp, and stoned him with stones, and he died; as the Lord commanded Moses.

If a Jews did not observe the sabbath, that was a very serious crime; Breaking the Sabbath was punishable by death.

1b-But Now. We are told not to observe the Sabbath, or days:

(Colossians 2:14-17):

v14. Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

v15. And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

v16. Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holy day, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:

v17. Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

In the dispensation of the grace of God, the Holy Spirit tells us through the apostle Paul; we are not under law, we are under pure grace.

Romans 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

Some foolish instructions from a well meaning CBA preacher. A well meaning pastor once told me, you must pick a day to be your Sabbath and observe it. But, didn't Christ nailed the Sabbath to His cross, so why would I want to resurrect the Sabbath putting myself under the law? Paul tells us we are not under the law we are not to observe holy days including the Sabbath; Christ nailed them all to His cross. and furthermore, Gentiles were never under the law in the first place.

Col. 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

Col. 2:15. And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

Col. 2:16. Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:

Therefore keeping the Sabbath is not Biblical for today. See Colossians 2:16. Don't permit anyone to convince you to do anything contrary to the Scriptures. When the Scriptures say to do something, first you must note to whom It is speaking. That is why it is so important to rightly divide the word of truth. If we are convinced in our own hearts that something is wrong, and we do it anyway, that is sin! Anything not done of faith is sin. Here are a couple verses that may help you understand if it is not of faith it is sin:

Romans 14:14 I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean.

Romans 14:23 And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.

Galatians 3:12 And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.

Galatians 3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

2a-Before. Christ told the multitude to observe the Mosaic Law:

(Matthew 23:1-3):

v1. Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples,

v2. Saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses seat:

v3. All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.

2b-But Now. Paul tells us we are not under the Law we are under Grace:

(Romans 6:14-18):

v14. For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

v15. What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.

v16. Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

v17. But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.

v18. Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

3a-Before. You must Share everything with others:

(Acts 2:44-45);

v44. And all that believed were together, and had all things common;

v45. And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.

(Acts 4:32-35):

v32. And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.

v33. And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.

v34. Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold,

v35. And laid them down at the apostles feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.

3b-But Now. Now we are told to provide for our own. If we do not work we should not eat:

1Timothy 5:8 But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.

2Thessalonians 3:10 For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.

4a-Before. Go not into the way of the Gentiles:

Matthew 10:5 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:

4b-But Now. Go to all men including Jews:

(Romans 10:11-14) Titus 2:11):

v11. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

v12. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.

v13. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

v14. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

Titus 2:11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,

5a-Before. Not forgiven unless you forgive others:

(Matthew 18:23-35):

v23. Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants.

v24. And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents.

v25. But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.

v26. The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.

v27. Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.

v28. But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellow servants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest.

v29. And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.

v30. And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt.

v31. So when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done.

v32. Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me:

v33. Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?

v34. And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.

v35. So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.

5b-But Now. We are to forgive one another because the Lord has already forgiven us:

Ephesians 4:32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

6a-Before. Christ was sent to the Jews only:

Matthew 15:24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

Matthew 10:5 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:

Matthew 10:6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel

Romans 15:8 Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers:

6b-But Now. Christ died for all according to the gospel:

(1Corinthians 15:1-4):

v1. Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

v2. By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

v3. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

v4. And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

Romans 16:25 Now to him that is of power to establish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,

Galatians 1:4 Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:

Titus 2:11 For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men,

I believe that these twelve statements proves, Law and Grace are not the same and they can not be mixed, Galatians 1:8-9 calls for a curse on any one trying to preach it differently. Caution if you mix law and grace you do so at your own risk.
