Your DSL Phone line and you: by
Tech Aaron, Internet Specialist
Important Information About Your DSL Phone Line
During the holiday season it is very easy to forget to pay your bills or put them off another month, however
did you know that if your AT&T phone line gets disconnected your DSL service has to be reordered? If your AT&T
phone service is interrupted, this can cause around three (3) weeks of internet down time, sometimes more
depending on the re-connect situation.

Photograph Hosting:by Tony
Cricelli, Chief Technology Officer
Many of us take lots of
photographs, some of which we want to share with family and friends.
Often we want to preprocess the photos, for example, crop,
straighten, sharpen, etc.... and then share the finished masterpieces.
There is a fantastic free program called Picasa which can be
downloaded here:
Once you install Picasa you can
use it to process your photos and then with a click of the button
you can use it to publish your photos to your Red Shift hosting
account. Picasa also starts up automatically when you connect
your camera and imports the photos and
videos.
Then all you have to do is
email the link to your friends and family without having to email
individual photos. Using a program like Picasa which will import, process
and publish your photos takes all the aggravation out of the
process. If you have any questions on setting up Picasa with
your Red Shift hosting account contact our Internet
specialists. |

Free
Office Productivity Software? Could It Be True? by
John Carpenter, Salinas Store Manager
Word processing software can be very expensive. It's not
surprising to find productivity software priced well over $300.00,
and often that is simply to upgrade a prior version that you have
already purchased. New computers that are available for purchase at
major retailers usually include trial versions of popular
productivity packages that in fact expire shortly after
activation. The good news is that there are free alternatives to purchasing expensive
software:
Open Office is probably the most popular of these
alternatives. It is a full featured productivity package, offering
near perfect compatibility with the most common file types. You may
download the Open Office installer at http://www.openoffice.org
Google has also entered the word processing fray
with their Google Docs web application. It is still new and may have
a few bugs, but free is a good price.
