A domain name will reserve ownership of a name that can be applied to personalize E-mail, attached to a web and or e-commerce site and acts as a brand or title that you own. Rather than having a generic E-mail address that only promotes the Internet service provider, a domain name will personalize both your E-mail and acts as the address of your web site.
The domain name registration includes only the domain name. The domain name can be attached to a web site when a commercial web account is opened. Click here to see our web hosting features.
There are no additional costs for registration. Registration means that you own the domain. If you want to use it for web hosting please see next question.

The minimum amount of fields is 1; there is no maximum although most domain names are ten to twenty-five fields long. Each domain name is separated by a period called a “dot”. The right side of the “dot” is called the “top level domain.” Popular top level domains include .com, .net, .org etc. The information to the left of the dot is called the “second-level domain”. “Redshift” is the second level domain and the “.com” is the top-level domain.
Yes. These top-level domains are recognized and can be registered by users all over the globe.
The WHOIS record should be updated within 24 hours of registration. To check the WHOIS record on your name please follow this link: http://www.networksolutions.com/cgi-bin/whois/whois Once the record shows that you own the name you may call to add additional services.
Domain names ending in “.com” are used for registering commercial entities. Anyone in the world can register a .com. Domain names ending “.net” have historically been designated for organizations that are directly involved in Internet operations. Currently businesses are registering domain names ending in .net when their original desired name ending in .com is already registered. The top-level domain .org is used to identify miscellaneous sites and non-profit organizations.
You can manage the domain name by going to the domain management page.
