Crows have been an important symbol in my life this month. They signify CHANGE ... major change. My wife has noticed them no less than a dozen times in the past month. After the 4th or 5th time, they appeared to me as well. One day alone, I saw several hundred of them on the ground near the on-ramp to Highway 1 in Monterey. This was the same day I got a job offer after being unemployed for three months. The message was that change was no longer in the air ... now it was GROUNDED! It is finally here!
I strongly feel that this is indeed the beginning of a new chapter in my life. The adventure is about to take off in a manner and direction that is completely unknown to me; yet, it is exciting to no end. Exactly where this will take me, I do not know. However, I am confident that spirit knows precisely where we are headed and will reveal whatever I need to know when I need to know it. Why should that be? Simply because that is the way it is. I have never known spirit to operate in any other way.
The adventure takes me to a new job in a new town. Yet, in many ways the job is like coming home. It allows me to continue work that I have done in the past in an environment where people are familiar with me and my work and respect my abilities. No, the work has nothing to do with creating the larger foundations for a new world; at least nothing that I am aware of yet. At the same time, I am compelled to be here. There is a sense that it is right, though I know not why. It will be interesting to see what is revealed when the veils come down.
Being unemployed was a bit strange and humbling. It was obvious that an income was required soon. But, at no time did I feel that I was in control of "manifesting" a job. I had never been unemployed before ... and though my talents are many, they did not seem to translate very well into things potential employers understood and were willing to pay for. It's interesting, the first job I applied and interviewed for turned out to be the one that I got. The process just took three months from the time I interviewed until the time I got the offer. During the entire period, I was never "worried". I trusted that spirit would come though with something as she always has. Not that I wasn't a bit concerned at times. I did take actions to search for work when it appeared that spirit wasn't coming forth with anything. But, none of these actions came close to manifesting anything. In fact, they were more frustrating than anything else.
Looking back, my sense is that I truly needed the rest. Also, the experience demonstrated that trust in spirit is always warranted. It taught me that my faith wasn't quite as certain as I thought. It also taught me that it is spirit, not me, in control of my destiny now. Of that, I am more certain than ever. One major side benefit: the break gave me the opportunity to birth a new expression of spirit and start co-creating something with another person that I had never attempted to do before. I have Dawn (wunjo) to thank for that, and am very grateful for her trust, friendship, assistance, laughter, joy and encouragement.
It is amazing how easy it is to DO SOMETHING. It really is. One just has to boldly start and unleash the forces of the universe to do their part to create whatever is needed. No, it does not necessarily happen overnight. Then again, there is no reason why it cannot do so if the circumstances so warrant. The bottom line is that it does not matter. All we can do in the moment is express in the manner that spirit moves us to. That is always the best that we can do and be. The key is allowing spirit to express as she will, rather than imposing our will and defining the outcomes. Trusting in spirit and the natural process of reality creation will take us to where spirit would have us be ... this is not necessarily somewhere that we would choose to go on our own.
Many wise men (and women) have taught us that we create our reality from our thoughts and beliefs. Yet, it takes one more step ... acting in accord with the thoughts and beliefs. It is the step of taking action that makes all the difference. This is the key that unlocks the door. This is how we inform spirit of what we truly want, and what we are willing to actively co-create in our lives and in our world.
This Newsletter was created to bring people together in a manner that facilitates taking such action. However, for that to work everyone must do their part and find a way to participate in a way that serves others. Service should not be work ... it is the natural expression of spirit through us. It should be fun and joyous ... it should leave one feeling elated, fulfilled, and full of love. Out of such expression, we collectively can build and do great things. We can literally build the infrastructures for the world in which we choose to live. We are co-creators, gods and goddesses in our own right. When we reclaim our power and allow spirit, our true nature, to express itself through us, what we can create is beyond imagination ... literally beyond anything that has been done before. We are limited only by the walls we build around ourselves and the chains we shackle ourselves in. There is a better way to live. We can be FREE! Actually, we are FREE. It is time to manifest that fact and create the social structures necessary to support us rather than control and enslave us.
However, to make this happen, we must have the courage to act, to do something that makes a difference in not only our lives but in the lives of others, and on a larger scale for society or the world at large. Exactly what we do isn't so important. It is being committed enough to act that matters and trusting that the free flow of spirit through us will ensure that the action is appropriate. Our willingness to serve spirit, to be the vessel through which she manifests her works in the world is the greatest gift we have to offer not only to ourselves but to all life.
